Using custom electronics, synthesizers, no-input mixing, feedback and glitch, tape loops, field recordings and more, her multidisciplinary practice is rooted in exploration, experimentation and unconventional creative techniques.

Her work has been featured at Mirror Mountain Film Festival, Electric Circuits and Pique, and she has presented a Masterclass at Carleton University.

Join Annie alongside filmmaker Pixie Cram for a conversation exploring women’s experiences in Ottawa’s independent media arts scene, the challenges artists encounter, and the creative paths they build along the way.

Honoured to be performing at this event:

"For our next iteration we are inviting artists who push the boundaries of line, page, sound and electronics. Sacha Archer's poetry takes the typewriter, concrete poetry and sound to a new level. experimental, absurd and existential, Sarah Burgoyne pushes plays on the edges of reality. hypnotic, strange, deep and often dark, Annie Socoria's experimental sounds and visualisations mesmerize. On November 20, Burgoyne and Socoria will join us on-stage in Ottawa, and Archer will stream in virtually. We hope to see you in our real and virtual audience!

This is a PWYC event, suggested donation of $20 at the door, NOTALF. Donate in-person or online https://bit.ly/RiverbedFundraisingSeason5.

To join us online, sign up for our mailing list and we will send you the online event link: https://bit.ly/RiverbedSignUp"

This Wednesday! Pinball Women Ottawa's monthly tournament at House of TARG!

Open to women and gender diverse players of all ages and skill levels.

Word is on the street that the new "Uncanny X-Men" machine will be on site for us to play (the official launch party is on Nov 20th for the open tournament and PWO will be having our own launch party on Dec 4th). The machine is themed around the "Days of Future Past" comics and it has a wild off-centre flipper layout with a "Danger Room" area on the left with a 3rd flipper. Can't wait to play it!

Hope to see you there! 🏓😊 by @anniesocoria
