We all know it might not actually make a difference, but we eat it anyway just in case.

A strategic social media presence probably won’t hurt your career.

And if you want opportunities that fit you as a person and as a musician, it can help people discover you, understand what you do and remember you when the right opportunity comes along.

But if you choose not to do social media, and at some point you feel like your career has stopped moving forward, it might be worth asking:

Could being more visible online help?

You don’t need to become an influencer. You don’t need to post every day.

But having a strategic presence there, just in case, might be worth it. 🍌 by @annigrid

Tbh every random job taught me something I still use today.

The hardware store: attention to detail
Sandwich artistry: customer service + speed
Fashion website marketing job: SEO + social media

So I actually think I am the lucky one.

If you’re a musician working random jobs on the side, you’re very much not alone. There are way more of us than you think.
