🤍 from the roots

For my birthday this year, I wanted to do something a little different and bring everyone together around the idea of roots.

We all come from different places, families, and backgrounds, and I love how much of that we carry with us through food, traditions, childhood memories, and the little things that remind us of home.

everyone brought a little piece of their own story to the table and shared it with each other.

I think the older I get, the more I appreciate these things. The people we meet, the places we call home, (the people that make new places feel like home!) memories we make, and the friendships that become part of our story along the way.

Feeling very grateful for the people standing next to me and for all the little pieces of home we find in each other. 🤍 by @annijaeizenarma

And l’ve noticed I do this every time.
When I feel lost or don’t know what I’m doing, I don’t try to “figure it all out”
I just go back to what feels interesting right now.
I write ideas down.
I follow the small sparks.
But I really believe you just have to keep pulling that thread.
Even if it changes.
Even if it doesn’t make sense yet. by @annijaeizenarma

We have questions and we have answers. World gets noisy. I believe that one of the most important life’s tasks is to quite down other people’s projections for you, expectations, or even your own artificial pressure. We are all born with inner compass. Sometimes we go big circles to come back to what is ours. by @annijaeizenarma

Movement is a lifes energy by @annijaeizenarma

A video that made me stop and reflect.

This was February last year, when my U.S talent visa was approved.
I was staying in my friends apartment as I already had subleased mine, and had a one way ticket to San Francisco, and one important person waiting for me. That is all I need, just one person to see me.

Now, after a full year in the U.S., I’ve been thinking a lot about how much my beliefs, my understanding of success, and even my dreams have changed.

And I realized something:
I don’t think I ever really had time to dream that big.

I always just did the best thing in front of me. I kept pushing. I challenged myself. And I never settled for an average outcome.

That mindset took me from one opportunity to the next, from building a company for six years to exiting it, and eventually to leaving my home country and moving across the globe to start an entirely new life.

Moving to the U.S. felt like an incredible opportunity.
But nobody gives you instructions for what comes next.
It comes with self-reinvention.
A dream audit.
A lot of uncertainty.
And the uncomfortable question of: What do I actually want now?

From the outside, my life might look easy or glamorous.

But underneath it, there have been a lot of tears, unknowns, uncertainty, and moments of questioning whether I’m on the right path.

What happens after you achieve the thing you spent years building toward?

What happens when you leave everything familiar behind and have to build yourself again?

I’m still figuring it out.

But I know one thing about myself:

I like to challenge myself. by @annijaeizenarma
