For this look, I tried to combine tenun troso with lurik on one look and utilized my favorite personal colors, “black and red”.
This oufit (outer and obi) was done when i was still working in the same office with @tasa_tama. She done the tailoring beautifully and I was taught how to sew the obi under her supervision. I hope we can collaborate in the further project🙏

BASAMO BASARUNG by annisamazaid
for Young Fashion Competition on INACRAFT 2024
This collection reimagines the sarong as ready-to-wear fashion, showing that it can also be worn by women. The designs are inspired by traditional Minangkabau clothing combine with “marawa”, emphasizing the origin of the sarong, specifically the Silungkang sarong from Padang, West Sumatra.
Basamo Basarung also aims to preserve and promote the Silungkang sarong, showcasing it as a valuable fabric for the textile and fashion industry.
