Fam! We are 21 days away from the opening of the Call Me Mother Experience at @thehealthmuseum! Can you believe it?

If you’re new here here’s what you should know my dears⬇️

📣🩺⚕️Debuting October 4, 2026, The Health Museum unveils the Call Me Mother Experience, an immersive, multi-site exhibition and call to action aimed at raising awareness about Black maternal health in the United States.

📈📊The curator, Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton chose to debut the work in Houston, Harris County, where March of Dimes statistics rate it the worst place in the U.S. for Black women to give birth.

📑👩🏽‍⚕️🤰🏾Research from the Commonwealth Fund which promotes an equitable healthcare system, shows Black mothers are more than twice as likely to die than any other ethnicity, Mouton, a multitalented artist and Houston’s first Black poet laureate, was inspired to create the exhibit after writing a poem while miscarrying in her home at the end of her first trimester.

My first flight after brain surgery was for an artist residency in Connecticut with a PHENOMENAL team of creatives. 🙌🏽

The week was more than a chance to learn from and work alongside other great artists; it was time for us to experience peace, joy, + hold space for each other while supporting our fearless leader @livelifedeep and bond with our team.

Last week was everything I never knew I needed. Hanging out in a mansion didn’t hurt, either. 😏

There is a story behind this, but the short is- there was a butterfly in this tree. May I stay forever curious. May I always see the art around me. May I never lose wonder or hope. May I stay surrounded by people who support my art AND ME.

Whew! It’s been a LONG TIME COMING! My Concrete Glass Documentary will debut this fall in conjunction with the @callmemotherexperience !

I am grateful. This week is the most I have painted (consistently) for a while! Also want to thank another artistic sis with BEAUTIFUL work -> @bebeautifulla for doing an artist card exchange with me! I really like these tiny pieces. Might have to list some in the fall line up!

To know me, is to know that Della Coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops! Well, their second location - @dellacoffeeandwine is opening next week! I was invited to their private soft opening yesterday. The owners (Becca and Doug), and everyone who’s ever worked there, have been nothing but kind in the original Montrose location (@dellacoffeeco ). I’ve been a regular for a couple of years. Now I have a new spot to frequent! It’s beautiful. They make food from scratch and have even partnered with a local farm for produce! They officially open on July 6! If you are in the area… tell them I sent cha! It was only right that Annlettered ‘s first order of business was to paint there! by @annlettered
