As we honor Dr. King today, I’m reflecting on a moment of peace I experienced this past weekend while meeting the monks.

Bhikkhu Pannakara shared a simple practice that’s been sitting with me: “Today is going to be my peaceful day.”

Setting that intention first thing plants a seed of peace. And when the day gets loud or stressful, you can return to it choosing calm, choosing grounded responses over turbulence.

I started today (day 2), and I’m committed to building the self-discipline to make peace a stronger habit, one morning at a time.

Another trip around the sun, and I’m filled with nothing but gratitude!
 This year, I celebrated my birthday doing things that brought me so much joy seeing the play Annie, dancing and vibing at the Lovin’ Life Music Festival, and most importantly, spending time with loved ones both near and far.

✨ The unexpected is what changes life

✨ I received a text from a good friend at work asking if I was interested in working on a task force. I had no clue what that meant in the financial industry. She set up a meeting with another person as an introduction.

✨ This person has so much knowledge on how to find opportunities. My task was to go to my job site and see where there are opportunities to make a change.

✨ The first article I see is about a leader that I used to work for who was promoted to a new position to handle issues. I’m passionate about changing process and reducing issues.

✨ Now comes the easy part my pitch how can my skills, experience and vision help her. I would have never known about these opportunities had I never went to that meeting.
