Had such a good giggle listening to @officialrichhall tonight at @homemcr

The second half was Rich doing his country set accompanied by Rob Child.

Aside from the witty lyrics, Rich and Rob's guitars sounded really rather lovely.

Have come home with another signed book too.

Last night had another trip to Stoke theatres @regandvic to listen to @francisrossiofficial waxing lyrical.

Dipping into Quo's back catalogue, he was deftly accompanied by Andy Brook.

Just two guitars & two vocals. All very civilised.

Lovely to see people enjoying doing what they do.
Music and vocals were on point.

Shoutout to another charming venue & staff.

Saw @jonandersonmusic and the Band Geeks last night in a packed out Opera House in Manchester.

Played a 2 hour set with mix of Yes and his own material and although I'm not a huge Yes fan, I came away feeling I'd seen something special.

Jon's vocals bring back so many memories. He was on point & the band were stella. Lovely jackets and a cute harp too.

Great start to the autumn gig season.

We had a mooch round a rainy Halifax yesterday including Piece Hall. Never been but loved it.

Their summer gig season ends this weekend.

I'll never get this close esp to a back stage area but just seeing an empty stage set up ready for a band, gives me a little frizzante.

Can't wait for the winter gig season to start.

First art I've done for months.

Thanks to @michelleshoreillustration for walking me through the process of watercolours.

Michelle's art classes are always a great way to escape the constraints of life.

Second attempt at watercolour.

Colours are not quite what I wanted but it's not bad & it has inspired me to do more.

The trick is deciding what to paint.

Had a look at the Beyond the View exhibition @tattonpark yesterday, featuring the two Canalettos.

Worth a look if you're passing, especially learning about the background to the commission.

You know where you are with a Canaletto.

No need to think too deeply.

His Venice scenes are like a cozy, warm slipper for the eye.

Went to the @aiww Button Up! exhibition in Manchester today at Aviva Studios @factory_international

Didn't know what to expect but it was a stunning & humbling installation, involving collaboration & hours of work using toy bricks, buttons, ceramics and inflatables.

A protest artist who doesn't hold back & tells it like it is.

Strangely beautiful.

Treated my inner nerd to the Red Dwarf convention in Nottingham on Saturday.

Never been to one of these. Very busy, perhaps a little disorganised but a good day.

Some really good cosplays & t-shirts in the crowd.

Plus got to have a chat to Chris Barrie & @dougrdnaylor which made my day.

The panel was really good & even featured a Rimmer salute.

In no particular order, here are my top 20 from this year's @royalacademyarts Summer Exhibition

As usual a mix of new & familiar names.

I think the shoe painting is my fave although the circle of beetles by @jimmoirart is a truely beautiful thing.

Tough call really.

Always admired the weird geometry in the art of Maurits Cornelis Escher. It is mind blowing trying to figure it out.

The exhibition currently on at @somersethouse til September did not disappoint.

Well worth a visit.

Lots of immersives and opportunities for interactive selfies within Escher pictures too.

Here are a few examples of his work printed from lithographs, mezzotints and woodcuts.

Things of beauty.
