We have posted a lot about the shadows cast inside the gallery but looking outside from the interior is like peering through a painting. by @anntarantino

3:00pm is a bit magical.

Open Thursday and Friday 3 to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5pm.

Around 5:30pm all of the colored light in the gallery disappears as the sun dips below a neighboring building. All of the colors and kaleidoscope patterns disappear in an instant, like a light switch. This is a very special show. #light #colors #abstraction #prospectheights #brooklyngallery by @anntarantino

We weren’t sure how the colorful translucent vinyl window pieces would interact with the paintings. Pleasantly surprised at the harmonious weaving of light and color. This show loves sunlight. Come out today 10/22 open 3-7pm with happy hour refreshments 5–7pm. @anntarantino @kateglicksbergphoto by @anntarantino

We had a lovely opening weekend for Ann Tarantino:Sunroom. Full of light, color, conversation and joy. Because of the nature of the show, we will host a series of happy hours in addition to show hours to encourage viewers to attend as the sun is setting. The first happy hour is this Thursday, October 22nd! It is also my birthday week, so come and have a toast with me. by @anntarantino

Kaleidoscope by day. Jewelbox at night. Fantastic opening spanning the setting sun. The gallery will be open today 1-5pm with an artist talk at 4pm. Tarantino will lead us through the show with an informal walk and talk. Come learn about her process and the integration of the mural windows with her paintings. @anntarantino by @anntarantino

Ann Tarantino: sunroom opens this weekend on Saturday, 4–7 pm. We chose this time because this show is responsive to the movement of the sun, especially in the late afternoon. A translucent colorful mural on the windows creates colorful shapes, and shadows. These pictures were taken minutes apart as the installation changes when a cloud passes over the sun. by @anntarantino

Installation taking shape this week at @theshirleyprojectspace. I have never had to watch an installation from afar and it’s been so fun to receive these images as things progress. This show will feature paintings from an ongoing series exploring light and shadow, and a new series of lasercut drawings. Join us for the opening party from 4-7 PM on Saturday, October 17! by @anntarantino

Thrilled to see the interaction between the paintings and the colored light shining through Ann Tarantino‘s window murals. Very fun show to curate as we consider the position of the sun in relation to the paintings. Please save the date for this season‘s opening party - Ann Tarantino: Sunroom October 17th 4-7pm. @anntarantino @willoughby.zine #abstraction #prospectheights #painting #installation #brooklyngallery by @anntarantino

Newsflash: life in Spain! This year I am living in Girona, a small city in Catalunya near Barcelona and the Costa Brava. As ever, travel provides an opportunity to engage with place in new ways. Line, pattern, shape, and detail continue to surprise in this new-to-me context. I am especially fascinated here by the link between language, culture, identity, and place. I can feel my studio interests expand, grow, and breathe. by @anntarantino
