I wish I knew these things sooner:

1. Change can Inspire

Don’t become stagnant. Switch up your environment, experiment with unfamiliar sounds, and try producing in a new genre. Growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.

2. Make Space

When working with vocalists or artists it is important to keep space for them to shine. Less is often more. Find that balance of producing something that feels complete without having too much going on.

3. Create More, Consume Less

Be careful with the amount of content, music and other peoples work you consume. While inspiration is valuable, avoid the trap of comparison.
You should be a creator not just a consumer.

4. Failure is Part of the Process

I wish i learned that failure is a normal part of the process sooner.
Whatever you perceive as failure, use it as a lesson to find what you can do better next time, or what to avoid.

I hope you find this useful.

Remember these tips when you’re focusing on becoming your best creative self. It’s easy to get caught in the rush of comparing yourself and your music to others.

Let go and stay in-tune with the process.
