I’m going back to the garden. After a lot of praying and reflecting I’ve decided it’s time for a change of pace. Anomaly co has been such a beautiful passion project that has changed my life in so many ways. However, I believe that it, like many other things in life, was just meant for a season. A season ive been mourning leaving in the past. While anomaly has been an opportunity for me to grow in my creativity and passions, I have found myself putting so much pressure on myself to perform that most of the joy has been stripped from the creative process. It’s morphed into a double edged sword I’ve tried to remain in control of, but simply cannot. The heart, intention, and impact of that season persists, however. The Lord has placed big dreams on my heart that I’m trusting Him to bring to fruition. I do know, though, that now is not the time for those dreams to become reality. My hope is to see Anomaly become a means for women who have exited trafficking to embrace their God-given creativity and share it with the world. While this dream has persisted in my heart for quite some time, I know that the Lord’s timeline is always much different than mine. For now, I’ll keep using my creativity as a means to abide and serve, just in a different capacity. The anomaly co website is still open until August 12, with all remaining pieces 30% off. Once closed, any of the remaining pieces can be purchased through my personal design account @by.___kate, where I’ll continue to post my projects and nurture my dream little by little. I’d love for you to join me as I explore all kinds of art as a means to serve the Lord and others. I’m grateful the Lord gave me such a sweet gift in anomaly co, and in no way will I throw the gift away. It just looks a little different right now. I’m going back to the garden. You should come along :) by @anomalyco._
THIS WEDNESDAY!! Come shop the last of Collection 004: “abide” at the Collective! Only 10 pieces left. 6:45pm-10pm See you there :) by @anomalyco._
Went kinda silent for awhile. Not anymore. I rarely post from a first person perspective, let alone about what’s happening in my heart, but I think art becomes more beautiful when the artist lets the walls down. It’s interesting how the enemy can take a gift so freeing, expressive, and reflective of our Creator and make it feel burdensome, anxiety-inducing, and hopeless. Anomaly has always been an expression from the deepest parts of my heart. A tangible form of my passion and deepest love. Yet I’ve allowed the enemy’s lies and my own doubts and struggles to inhibit—and even suffocate—my creative outlet. I’ve let anxiety completely cloud my mind the past 6 months, when it has come to anomaly. Every time I thought of it, I had a pit in my stomach. I don’t know why. I’ve tried to answer that question for months, and I still turn up without a firm answer. Except that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. But greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world!!! In the midst of anxiety and hopelessness surrounding Anomaly, I’ve been able to go back to the basics. Back to inspiration. Back to dreaming. I’ve learned to let my art express me instead of control me. I’ve found enjoyment in the basics of sewing in ways I never have before. I’ve allowed myself to dream about what an Anomaly Co that requires an overwhelming faith could look like. An Anomaly Co that can sustain on nothing but Christ alone. An art form that spreads the Gospel and empowers the disadvantaged and neglected. Needless to say, I’ve been dreaming and praying and sketching and sewing a lot. I’ve gone back to the garden! You should come with me :) - Kate (ps collection 4 is still available on our website, and there are some killer pieces left. Plus, if you live in phx, I can do a local drop off so you don’t have to pay shipping) by @anomalyco._
design 3/9: PEACE We are born at war. At birth, our sinful nature has already declared war on God and His truth. However, Jesus came as the Prince of Peace to welcome us into an abiding relationship of restoration and love. Through Jesus’s sacrifice and our surrender to Him, we have full access to true peace. Peace that surpasses all understanding despite all chaos and anxiety. Link in bio to shop “PEACE” #oneofone #handcrafted #christianapparel #slowfashion #fruitofthespirit by @anomalyco._
design 2/9: “JOY” The fruit of the spirit is not happiness, but joy. A “soul satisfaction” that comes only through God’s grace. We live in a world with any comfort we could ever want at our fingertips. Yet, this same society is also the most discontent. Not the body of Christ, though! We have a transcendent satisfaction because we know Whose we are, and Whose we will always be. Shop now at www.anomalyco.shop #handcrafted #upcycle #christianapparel #fruitofthespirit by @anomalyco._
