Except most of the time, there wasn’t anything left.

And I don’t regret taking care of my kids.

Not one bit.

But now that I’m 50, I’m learning something.

It’s okay to want something for myself, too.

More time.

More freedom.

A little financial peace.

And a future that doesn’t depend on working myself into the ground! Double tap if you have ever went without to get your kids things #grandma #teacher #genx #womenover50 by @anona_w

Wishing you a fun safe Halloween! 🎃 by @anona_w

I spent almost 30 years doing the same career.

I knew how to be a speech therapist. I knew how to be a mom. I knew how to work hard.

But digital marketing? 😂

I didn’t even know where to start.

I remember seeing other women doing all these things online and thinking there was NO WAY I could figure that stuff out.

But here’s what I learned…

You don’t have to know everything before you start.

You just need someone willing to show you how.

I started with zero experience, zero followers, and a whole lot of questions.

And now I’m learning skills I never imagined I’d be able to do.

So if you’ve been watching other women and thinking, “I wish I knew how to do that”…

Maybe you don’t need to be smarter, younger, or better with technology.

Maybe you just need someone to show you where to start. 🤎

What’s ONE thing you’ve wanted to learn but have absolutely no clue where to begin? 👀. My answer is in the comments 👇#grandma #teacher #genx #womenover40 #workfromhome by @anona_w

I wish someone had shown me this when my kids were little.

When Christmas meant worrying about how I was going to afford presents.

When I was working hard and still barely getting by.

I used to think earning online was for young girls who knew everything about social media.

Turns out, you can start learning at 40, 50, or even 60.

You don’t need to know everything.

You just need to be willing to learn something new.

Have you ever thought you were too old to start something new? 🤎 #grandma #teacher #genx #womenover50 by @anona_w

You know what I think real freedom looks like?

Filling up your gas tank without checking your balance first.

Buying groceries without adding everything up in your head.

Getting your grandkids something just because you want to.

And not feeling sick every time another bill comes in.

It’s not always about fancy cars or huge houses.

Sometimes it’s just about finally being able to BREATHE.

That’s a big part of why I started learning how to earn online.

I wanted options. I wanted freedom. And I wanted something that was mine.

If this hits home, you’re exactly the woman I want here. 🤎 #womenover40 #grandma #workfromhome #genx by @anona_w

When you walk into a room to get something…

Forget what you went in there for…

Walk back out…

And suddenly remember. 😂

So now you have to go BACK into the room.

And forget AGAIN.

At this point, I’m just getting my steps in. 🤦‍♀️😂 anyone else? #grandma #teacher #genx #womenover40 by @anona_w

I work full-time. I’m a mom and grandma. I get it!

The last thing I wanted was ANOTHER job taking up all my time.

But then I learned about UGC.

You can create videos for brands using products you already have at home. You don’t need thousands of followers to get started.

I wish someone had told me about this years ago!

Would you ever try something like this? 🤎#grandma #teacher #genx #womenover40 #mompreneur by @anona_w

When I was younger, I didn’t dream about needing help buying groceries.

I dreamed about giving my kids a good life.

But there was a time when food stamps were part of our reality.

And even though I was doing my best, I wished things were different.

I wanted to walk into the grocery store and buy what we needed without worrying so much.

I wanted to feel financially secure.

Looking back, I wish I’d been kinder to myself.

Because needing help didn’t mean I wasn’t working hard.

It meant I was doing what I needed to do for my family.

If that’s where you are today, please don’t give up on the future you want. 🤎#womenover40 #mompreneur #grandma #teacher #genx by @anona_w

There were Christmases when I couldn’t afford everything I wanted to give my kids.

So I worked for my mom.

Doing all the jobs she hated.

Just to earn a little extra money for Christmas.

And even after that, I still needed her help.

I was grateful she could help me.

But I remember wishing I could just do it myself.

I wanted my kids to have the magic without all the financial stress behind it.

I wish the younger me had known there were other skills she could learn to create more options.

Because no mom should feel like she’s failing just because money is tight.

If you’ve ever been that mom, I understand. 🤎 #womenover40 #grandma #teacher #mompreneur #genx by @anona_w

The 3rd child 🤣😩❤️ they go through a lot by @anona_w

wish somebody would’ve told me at 40 that I didn’t have to wait until retirement to start learning something different.

I’ve been a speech therapist for almost 30 years.

And while I love what I do, I don’t necessarily want to keep working until I’m 65 or 70.

I want more freedom.

More time with my kids and grandkids.

More opportunities to travel.

And more choices about how I spend my days.

That’s why I started learning digital marketing.

Not because I thought it would magically replace my paycheck.

But because skills like creating content, working with brands, and building digital products are things I can learn and develop outside my regular job.

I’m still building my business.

But I love knowing I’m working toward something different.

You don’t have to quit the career you’ve spent years building to start learning a skill that could open another door.

If you’re curious about what I’ve been learning, comment START and I’ll share where I began. 🤎#grandma #teacher #genx #womenover40 #workfromhome by @anona_w
