Famicom Disk System… but not really. 😅

This is just a merch replica I bought at the Nintendo store in Tokyo. But what a cool piece of merch and one of my favorite things selling at the store. This version works as a card holder, but it’s just so similar to the original that I just needed to have one… and I was lucky enough to get The Legend of Zelda version out of 5 options.

The Famicom Disk System was released in 1986 as an add-on to the original Famicom. The games were inside this yellow “floppy” disks and Zelda was the very first game released for it. This was also the first big flop of Nintendo in the video game business. As far as I know, the idea was to use some blank disks to write and rewrite games whenever you wanted a new one, for a cheaper price than buying the game directly…. Eventually, people just wasn’t interested.
(Please, correct me if that’s not right😂 )

Well, I am interested now!! It is a piece of history of Nintendo and video games. I’d like to own one some day. I’m sure looking for games will be a thrilling search, as many disks are overwritten with different games. More or less like downloading an episode of a tv show 20 years ago and never being sure if you’re downloading it for real or is it just po*** graphy.😂 It was a rollercoaster.

Does any of you own the Disk System? Please let me know your experience.🙏

Nintendo Stores haul!!

A new post of my merch and gaming hauls from last month travels to Korea and Tokyo. We went to the store in Shibuya, but after going back to Korea we saw there was a pop-up Nintendo Store in Seoul too!! I just wanted those lovely Pikmin flower pots, because I missed them in Tokyo… but of course I bought more. There’s even a few Mario themed towels I forgot to take pics of, but they’ll make appearances in my future posts.😜

Here you can see the Pikmin pots and pins. Also, the stickers on the bottom were presents for Nintendo account members. They gave us also that minicard with a qr. It takes you to a Pikmin minigame on your phone, so feel free to scan that. (3rd photo)
The Mario & Boo thingy was a blind lotto by Ichiban Kuji. It looks like a tag for a suitcase(🤔!?)

The key rings on top were a blind box. I’m very happy with Luigi, and my wife is now daily hooked to Animal Crossing, so happy with that one too.
The other key ring in the middle came out of a gashapon machine. All the options were very cool, emulating parts of NES controllers.

And last but not least, a card holder in a shape of a game for Nintendo Disk System!! This is my favorite buy (after the pots), so I took a few pics of it to show you better in a post next week.
It was a blind box too, there was a few game options, but I was so lucky to take out Zelda. 🎉

Did I buy too much? Too little?
And if you’ve ever been to the Nintendo Store, What did you buy?

Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe + Magolor Epilogue.

That should be the full title of this game, because Magolor does not have a small thing going on here.
Like Nintendo did with Mario 3D World, adding Bowser’s Fury, Magolor Epilogue is a full game itself, unlocked after finishing the main game with Kirby.

You’ll play with Magolor along 19 stages plus 14 shorter bonus stages, and if you unlock all of them with a gold medal, an extra one opens (I’m still trying to unlock it). So it will give you a few extra hours to play this.
I was expecting a fun short thing of maybe 30 minutes, but this is a GREAT surprise. If you happen to doubt buying this because you already played the game on Wii, just know that you’ll be buying a shirt extra game here.

I usually like everything Kirby, as you might have thought seeing the photo, but this game was really really good. If you like Kirby, you’ll definitely enjoy it, as it has a lot of extras, like minigames, adding to the game.
Btw, look at the art inside the box of the game… I live when they put that extra effort.😊

I finished this game just on time before the new Zelda. But I didn’t want to be one more post added to the craze.
Did you hear there’s a Zelda game coming out today?👀😂😂

What is your favourite Kirby game? What game did you finish lately to be free for TotK?

Time to play that Pokopia I bought in Japan. by @another.game.collector

THE Game haul!!

I just came back from another trip in Japan and I legit thought I wasn’t making a “gaming haul” kind of trip, but here I am with 23 new games…😂 I guess I just didn’t realize because of the low prices.

The total comes to 12 PS5 games, 4 Switch games, 3 for PS4, 2 for Wii and 1 of the few Wii U games that I still kinda wanted. And yes, 1 Switch 2 game… a game for a console I don’t yet own… but I refuse to buy a key card 1st hand, so used it is🥲

And of course I went to otaku stores, including Capcom stores, where I bought those Hugh and Diana mini-plushies; Nintendo, where I bought the N64 controller I NEED for the Nintendo Online games, and that cute Kirby, who happens to be a train station manager.

Also I forgot for the photo, Mother 1+2 soundtrack!! 😍

The games in Japanese are:
Left: Ereban, Melon Journey.
Right: My Hero Academia All’s Justice, Pokemon Pokopia, Tomodachi Life, Lunark, Bayonetta Origins, Dragon Age Inquisition, Cororinpa 2, Opoona.

My Top games of 2025!

What’s your Top 3??

I finished 50 games during last year and this is my top 3 between the games I played. It’s not a coincidence that I have them all in PS5, as I bought the console in March and I was finally able to enjoy the latest generation.

Astro Bot is no doubt the best I played. The 1st time I feel a non-Nintendo game can do what Nintendo does with Mario. This is my 2nd platinum ever, so that says it all.

Expedition 33 is second, because… you al heard about it too many times. It doesn’t make nothing new, but does everything imo perfectly to engage the player.

Indiana Jones closes the top 3 because I WAS Indiana Jones. And at the same time I was watching a new movie of his adventures. Everything that made the movies legendary is here in this game.

I played many games that deserve a mention, but to not bore you (if you reach this last words) I’ll make 2 Honorable mentions. Those are ‘Chants of Sennaar’ and ‘Alan Wake 2’.
I’ll get around to talk about them sometime.

Merry Christmas!!
I received Metroid Prime 4 Beyond today!! And with the gorgeous bike amiibo!🤩
After finishing my game 50 of the year I can finally play this for the last of 2025, as I’ll be taking it slowly.

Critics of this game made me tone down my hype, but I really don’t listen to random opinions and I’m in a big Metroid Prime mood, so l know l’ll like this one too.

What games did you get for Christmas Day!?

6/10 - Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5)

I’m recycling this pic from a Feb 2022 post, because after 3 years, I got a PS5 and played this beloved game. And let me tell you before you get mad at my opinion, I understand why (if) you liked it.

The graphics are amazing, the city is so big and you can explore a lot, the shooting action parts are great and I enjoyed them very much, and Keanu Reeves… ‘ ’BUT’ ‘ the story is incredibly boring and predictable. And I don’t mean just the main story, the side stories are the same, and the cutscenes are slow, too abundant, and many of them totally useless to the story.

Yes, those s • e • x scenes are well made, but why are they even making them? I wanna shoot something or drive through the city, let me at least fast forward on them. I felt like I was watching more cutscenes than the time I was actually playing.
Also, When I have to follow someone, why do they walk so slow? And the long rides in the car… I’m so glad I could jump those.

Needless to say I did not go searching for different endings and I passed on the DLC. I did like Panam’s character, so I did try to finish her side quests… but the rest was just boring and wanted to advance asap so I’d get to the enjoyable action parts.

So I think 6 out of 10 is fair, thinking of the amazing looks of the game and the action. What did you think of it yourself? Did you like Cyberpunk 2077?

Day 8 of #dystopiansummerinstyle !!
“Patch Notes in the Dust”

I don’t play many remakes, remasters, or DLCs unless I liked the game before, so when thinking of ‘a game that changed on me’, only Death Stranding comes to mind.

I bet almost everybody felt weird with this game when you first played it. Maybe you liked it instantly, or you took your time. Or maybe you even abandoned it. In my case, it took me 4 tries to really really like it.

I think I played the 1st time for around 6 hours in a few days, but nothing at all hooked me.
A few months later I continued around 10 hours more. I finally understood the basics, felt the potential, but lost the hook. Around 6 months later happened the same, I was already at 25 hours of play, but I focused too much on useless trips that unhooked me again.
But finally, a few months more later, I was hooked to point of making roads, deliveries, the story… I felt like I understood everything!!

How can the same game goes from ‘meh’ to ‘I love the 70+ hours I’m playing’? Is this maybe what you’ll felt with older Kojima games? 🤔😂

TMNT Mutants Unleashed

I’ve been eyeing this game since it came out last year.
Why? This time I have specific reasons. I loved the movie ‘Mutant Mayhem’ (go watch it) last year and this game apparently follows the story right after the movie. And also it was made by an indie team in my city. So I saw this offer today (20€) and finally bought it.

Sadly, the developer team ‘A Heartful of Games’ also closed today. The industry is in bad shape.😢

Day 7 of #dystopiansummerinstyle
“Season Never Ends”

Conker’s Bad Fur Day is my all time favorite game. It was like that since the 1st time I played it almost 25 years ago, and now the nostalgia makes me replay it anytime I can.
It’s also a summer game for me, as I used to bring my N64 with a few games every summer to my family’s town, and this one was a must every time.

Day 6 of #dystopiansummerinstyle
“Looping in the Breeze”

What better day than Bananza day to mention one of the most memorable soundtracks in gaming history. Donkey Kong Country always delivers amazing music and I’m sure the new game has done it amazingly too.

For now, I can’t enjoy the new comeback of the Kongs (maybe I’ll buy the console in Xmas or next year🤔 no rush). So I’ll enjoy this previous DK “comeback” when I feel like I NEED it.😅

PS: Transparency time, this photo is a repost..😵‍💫
