With a declining birth rate and a rising number of retirees, there is a risk that job openings in Zeeland will go unfilled. Many educational programs are seeing their student enrollment decline, while the employment rate for hands-on jobs in this region remains high.

I had the opportunity to visit the De Ruyter Maritime and Logistics College in Vlissingen, where young people are enrolled in maritime vocational programs in inland waterway transport, fishing, and seafaring.

There’s nothing better than celebrating my upcoming birthday with some fundraising. ✨

Last year, @uitslag_punt_net created these beautiful screen prints of an image I made in 2023 for a project on social housing complexes.
Almost all of the prints were sold to benefit @bulbul.speaks.
Almost all of them.
So I’m selling the last few copies.

The proceeds will go to the lovely @noor_radi9 and her 3-year-old daughter Amal, who are hopelessly trapped in Gaza. ❤️‍🩹

When @destandaard asked if I’d like to contribute to their 2026 summer series, I finally saw a good excuse to flesh out an idea I’d been mulling over for a while.
Aside from having complete creative freedom (✨), there was one restriction: choose a word that starts with “summer.” Many words crossed my mind, but “Zomertijd / Summertime” fit the bill and marked the start of a new project.

Many many thanks to the wonderful @somers_nick for the invitation, to Karen Wyckmans for the trust, to Daphne de Roo for editing the text, and to @elke_pannier for the publication. 🖤🖤🖤

Antwerp Pride took place yesterday, with the theme 𝙁𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨. With a record turnout of 170,000 people and so much heartwarming compassion, I wish for this to be a glimpse of hope in this harsh, intolerant and polarized world. First and foremost for the people within the community, but also for everyone outside of it who shares responsibility for a society in which human rights apply to all people.
