this is a reminder that dreams come true.

today marks one week since i saw jess and lis for the very first time. one week since i screamed my lungs out to songs that have been with me through most of my life. one week since i was able to meet them, talk to them, hug them and make them laugh (yeah i’m such a jokester).

after waiting more than 16 years, traveling 2,350.53 kilometers felt like nothing. ever since the concerts were announced, i had been living in a never-ending countdown. on the day of the show, i still couldn’t believe what was happening. and to be honest, it all still feels surreal. i’ve grown up with them. they’ve shaped a huge part of who i am today. there was a time when every single wall in my house had the name “the veronicas” written on them with a sharpie – and it took a long time for my mom to forgive me for the damage done. my school notebooks always had a section dedicated to them, and there isn’t a single person who’s walked into my life without hearing me talk about the veronicas. not even my neighbours were safe. my old twitter handle, @/deadlui, came together because of their song “dead cool”.

it feels almost unreal to remember the energy i lived at the concerts. the screams that echoed, the tears that fell, the voices rising together in song. but above all, the unison. the connection. every single person was there moved by love. every soul was there to feel safe. to feel free. i was overcome with a joy so pure i can hardly put it into words, and i will forever be grateful to the universe for allowing me to live my lifelong dream.

now, one week later, i’m still taking it all in. i’m still trying to understand that i just lived the best experience of my life. i’m still in shock at how kind and how beautiful lisa and jessica are, inside and out. thank you, @theveronicas, for being such an inspiration. and a huge thank you to all the beautiful souls i’ve connected with because of them.

i will never give in on this love.
