ANT KAI for Kyrie Irving 🪶♾️Honored to be tapped in by Kyrie’s family to create custom pairs as Father’s Day gifts for @kyrieirving and his dad, Drederick. Additional pairs were made for ANTA athletes @carislevert, @therea1djones, and a few of Kyrie’s closest.The eight-pair collection features three colorways, “Indigo,” “Kakishibu,” and “Khaki/Denim”, each designed using traditional Japanese boro and sashiko techniques.The process begins with dyeing, painting then stitching. Each pair features over 250 stitches across the uppers, made using a combination of hand stitched sashiko, a standard sewing machine, and a hand-crank leather machine. The original highlight colored laces were swapped for rope laces, finished with custom beads inspired by necklaces worn by Kyrie. 📿🪡🧵📸 by @jordanloves.life x @antkaistudio by @ant.kai

ANT KAI x @UFC x BMF Champ @blessedmma 🏆Incredibly honored to be the first artist to collaborate with the UFC on custom gloves for their new Gloves For Good program.100% of proceeds benefit youth in Hawaii through the Holloway Foundation and UFC Foundation. You can enter now to win the gloves via Alltroo. Link in story.I started with a blank pair of black gloves and transformed them using patchwork made from Hawaiian fabrics inspired by Max’s homeland. Added hand painting, restitching throughout, embroidered UFC and Gloves For Good details, and layered stitching over the fingers for extra dimension. @michaelbjordan x @ant.kai “Dark Indigo Boros” 1 of 1 for Michael B. Jordan. Mikes team hit me 2 days before I had to leave for my flight to LA wanting to create a moment for his panel at @complexcon . I pulled some all nighters and made it happen. Shout out to my guy @leovolcy for putting this together, appreciate y’all for the support and creative freedom with this project. Life’s crazy 🙇🏽✨Took the colorway of my latest Sacais and put it to some Dunks. Used thrifted denim/khaki and Japanese fabrics. Wanted to do something different so did patchwork under the sashiko stitching on the toe box and side panels. S/o my guy @ralphromeo for shooting for me too. Reels coming soon 📸. by @ant.kai

🪡 LV Boro Dunks 🥀 for @dermotkennedyInspired by Virgil Abloh 🕊️. Specifically the destroyed denim jacket/jeans from Louis Vuitton’s FW22, Virgil’s final collection that he designed with LV before his passing. Base shoe was a pair of Marina Blue Nike Dunks. I hand stitched sashiko stitches on the toe box and side panels, dyed/bleached the fabrics to get the right color match, distressed the floral patterns to emulate the referenced pieces, used my leather sewing machine to stitch the uppers, aged the midsoles, and finished with cream laces. Each swoosh features a different color flower. 🌹🌼🌺 by @ant.kai

ANT KAI for VOGUE Hong Kong First time being published in a magazine and it’s with @voguehongkong ! For their April issue I was interviewed by Vogue about my design process and journey with sneakers, which was featured with other artists in their article “The Present and Future of Custom Sneakers Culture”.Finally got a copy of the magazine in hand.
