Listen to me…ain’t NOTHING cute about this book but that copper foil lettering! It’s been a hellish year of wandering for me. The wounds are deep and I bled all over these pages. I do not mince words and there’s no happily ever after poem at the end.

But if you, like me, are in a season that has made you question God and everybody, I think you might find yourself among the waves of my wrestling. My hope is not that Treading Water will make you feel better. You actually might feel worse after reading it. But I do hope you feel seen.

I had been lamenting to God about how tired I was of keeping up with all the details all the time and how I wished I could turn my brain off just for a little while.

It wasn’t until the second time @kendra2shay threw her arm out in front of me to keep me from getting hit by a delivery person on a bike as we walked around New York City that I realized that God had heard me—there was not a thought behind my eyes when I was with her 😂

I was on this flight Saturday morning and was sitting adjacent to Mark and this woman. It happened exactly as he describes it. And while I know that people really do walk around with this kind of audacity, I still could not believe what I was seeing and hearing. It’s almost like she wanted to start an altercation. And after she could not get the reaction she wanted, she started again when the flight landed.

The pit I got in my stomach when I heard her start to whine to airport personnel that she was “being harassed” and saw the flashing lights of the airport police—oh, no ma’am. I stayed behind and snitched to both United and to the police. And I will every time. EVERY. TIME. You’re mean, racist, AND a liar?? Please pick a struggle—preferably one that does not involve you unnecessarily provoking black people. My God. by @anteneshiasanders

My dad was scheduled to preach at my mom’s home church in Campbellsville this weekend and my cousin said she was driving in.
