Back in March, I had the opportunity to really lean into the story of 9/11 from a perspective I honestly didn’t know much about.

38 planes carrying thousands of passengers were redirected and grounded in Newfoundland, Canada. The people of Gander and the surrounding communities essentially stopped their lives to take care of complete strangers.

Come From Away tells that story, and I was blessed to be a part of telling it leading up to the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

I’m so appreciative of TheatreWorks for taking a chance on me again—especially in a role WAY outside of my comfort zone. No good song to hide behind 🤣 and surrounded by incredible actors who regularly had me wondering how I got in the room in the first place.

But what a blessing that room turned out to be.

I still think about the laughter and tears we shared onstage and off—because there was definitely a “quitting day” for most of us at some point 😂. Somehow, we kept showing up and became our own little Gander family.

If you came to see us, THANK YOU! If you wanted to but life happened, thank you for thinking of me and sending those prayers—they worked. And if you didn’t know until afterward because I suck at multitasking and self-promotion…my bad. 😂

Then last month, I got the opportunity to meet David Hein and Irene Sankoff and perform songs that didn’t make the final show.

Y’ALL…BOB HAD A SONG!!! 😂

I don’t know if I’ll ever meet this show again onstage, but I’ll forever remember our Gander Gang, the cinder block bus, plane shenanigans, The Grill, those doggone chairs and “OH, BONOBO!” 🤣

25 years later, I’m grateful I got to help tell a story born from one of our darkest days that reminds us what people are capable of when we choose to take care of one another.

May we never forget. ❤️

Yesterday I got an opportunity to reconnect with an old friend from my Fremont Days at Seneca @jacksinodinos was always a great guy that you could trust and depend on during the hard days and his family has always had great restaurants.
Now that I'm out here in the Valley just so happens he has 2 restaurants and an ice cream spot nearby!
My family and I met him and his beatiful family at @kinfolks209 for dinner and then took a few steps down the way to @thecoppercone 10/10 for both! Great options for the whole family!
We'll be checking out @cahoots209 for breakfast soon!

I mean FB created the post so I can at least post it! Couple of weeks ago we found out TT Phae was going to be in the show she was directing as an understudy, so we signed out of camp early amd headed to the city! Got to see TT Phae and a couple of daddy's friends he does shows with kill it in Hairspray! If you haven't gotten your tix you should hurry up and do that show runs until September.
After that we went to Cheesecake Factory on the roof because you just don't leave being in Union Square to sit in traffic when you could fight off pigeons(not so fun) and enjoy cheesecake and descent SF weather and sites!
