My first time doing the @northstar_california downhill series was one to remember. From getting a flat on the first race and running across the finish line, to getting first place on the last race. NorthStar is everything I expect in downhill racing. Steep, gnarly, scary, and challenging.

The best part of the season was racing with cool people and meeting new friends. I’m already looking forward to next season.

Gypsy and Boondocks felt smooth and flowy after riding River Styx for two days. The new feature on Boondocks is super fun. Everything at @northstar_california is built so well. These were a couple of laps after the race.

Finals run. It was pretty bad haha. P7. I’m happy I didn’t crash, but definitely too many mistakes, and too much brakes. Super fun course. I’m cooked. Now onto national champs starting Wednesday.

When Mexico was playing Ecuador last week, we told each other, if Mexico wins, we’re going to Mexico City to watch them play. Well, they won, we booked flights, and two days later, we were in Mexico, with our friend Mayra who was down for a last minute once in a lifetime trip.

We tried hard but couldn’t make it work with tickets to the stadium. We decided to watch the game from El Zocalo where the FIFA Fan Festival was being held.

The day of the match, we left our Airbnb and every single person on the street or in their cars was wearing a Mexico jersey, waving Mexican flags, or wearing something representing the Mexico Team. We walked with millions of people in Mexico jerseys to El Zocalo where we watched the game.

By the time the match started, there were over 2 million people at El Zocalo.

Though Mexico lost, everyone stayed out all night partying in the streets, having espuma fights and laughing. I can’t even put into words what this feels like. The pride of a country but mainly the love and pride of the people. The Mexico team doesn’t only represent the country, it represents every person in Mexico. And they represent the team with pride.

One of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been a Mexico fan since I was a kid. And to be a part of something like this was once in a lifetime. We even caught the same flight as @gil_morita on the way back to Tijuana!
