Upcoming solo piano concert / open studio: @citedesartsparis 18/3/26, 6pm & 7pm, Studio 3, 18 Rue de l'Hôtel de Ville, 75004 Paris.

8 solo piano improvisation techniques from recent concert @mozgklub , Bydgoszcz, 19/9/25:

(1) Overhand ostinati, static pitch collection, shifting rhythmic emphases.

(2) Multi-octave ascensions, static pitch collection, density shift = scalic shift

(3) RH 2+3 of M2 dyads while LH phrases in between. Ionian alternation switches transposition of RH.

(4) Arboresences without pedal.

(5) Alternating M2 & m2 dyads in 1-7 semiquaver rule, interspersed with rapid multi-registral sieves.

(6) 10-finger ascending ostinati, gradated pedal work.

(7) Metric modulations over similar scalic material and articulation

(8) 4th - 1st octave rapid descending sieves, repeated temporal scale.

Immediata Digital & Sentencia Records presents "Always Clowning On The Brim Of Hell", an álbum that brings together Australian piano extraordinaire Anthony Pateras (PIVIXKI, Sulla Lingua, tētēma - with Mike Patton, and collaborations with The Necks and Sunn O))) ) with Spanish double bassist Marco Serrato and drummer Borja Díaz (Orthodox, Hidden Forces Trio, Sputnik Trio, Frente Abierto). The trio creates a haunting aural experience, based on fearless experimentation and playing.

Oct 1: It’s with great excitement that we welcome Australian composer and musician Anthony Pateras to La Bleue for a solo piano set. Building upon years of research, the performance will draw on the methodologies of 20th and 21st century composers and improvisers, combined with the acoustic embodiment of radical electro-acoustic music.

Active since 1999, Pateras's practice spans contemporary music, electroacoustics, piano improvisation, experimental rock and film soundtrack.

He has composed over 90 works and released more than 50 records, performing solo, with his groups Pateras/Baxter/Brown, PIVIXKI, Thymolphthalein, North of North, tētēma and Sulla Lingua, and in long-term duos with Jérôme Noetinger, Stephen O'Malley, Erkki Veltheim, Rohan Drape and Anthony Burr.

He lives and works in Djaara/Castlemaine, and serves on the jury at La Becque, La Tour-de-Peilz. taken in Paris 19ème by @anthony__pateras
