One thing this past summer in NY has taught us is that in times of upheaval and change, sport can be a great reminder of our shared humanity and help shape the future. The ways in which sport is communicated and celebrated are at the core of how we live.

On Wednesday, October 7th, at The Museum of Arts and Design I will be moderating a talk on design for sport. We will be joined by three esteemed guests to discuss why it looks, feels and sounds the way it does and why it’s important. Lizzi has been bossing me around for a few years and this is the result. That’s saying that things only happen when it’s time is a cliché for a reason. It’s true af. Working with my life and creative partner of 25 years has made this work something quite different. It’s ours. We are proud self-starters who value depth of feeling and serious process in the making of things. Some days I look at the work and it feels like someone did it. My good brother @bamba_al_mansour said to me the other day “When you do what we’ve been doing for this long, it gets to a point where your ego dies, you become a vessel, and the work just comes through you”. There is much more to do and a steep hill to climb. We have never been more ready to do that in pure joy. During a murky chapter of life, the best advice I ever got from Dad was to “…keep putting one foot in front of the other, even when you’re unsure of where exactly you’re going. Just. Keep.
