And with this wonderful page...

I own at least one page of comic book art from every incarnation of the Doctor!

First to Fifteenth Doctors.

War, Fugitive, Peter Cushing.

Even Nick Briggs' fake-out 1990s version!

Revealed at last!

Titan Merchandise have been working on a vast range of exclusives for this year's SDCC.

I'm particularly proud of the third TARDIS enamel pin badge set. See you next year for set IV..?

(One of the TARDIS badges is based on the 'Endgame' comic strip TARDIS by @mgeraghty1968 - with Dave Gibbons' iconic VWORP VWORP text!) taken in San Diego, California by @anthonygarnon

Bury Comic Con, Sunday 28th June.

Rounding out a week of meeting well-known faces. I loved being able to meet David Lloyd (co-creator of "V For Vendetta") who drew me a great sketch.

Paul McGann was in attendance and it was fantastic seeing him and @mgeraghty1968 meet, having read Martin's comic strip adventures featuring Paul's Doctor Who for many years.

But the biggest pleasure of all came from meeting John Ridgway - who is tied with Martin as 'my' Doctor Who artist. Great to see him still going strong, and he told me lots of details about his upcoming strip Melvyn (Melvin?). I'll be sure to check it out when it's ready.

He's photographed here with my Dad, who John drew in a recent Doctor Who comic!

Great to see @cutawaycomics and @david_j_howe as well! Very much looking forward to cracking open the new books I bought from them. by @anthonygarnon

I unashamedly love TV's Gladiators.

On Saturday 27th June we ventured to Birmingham to play the Gladiators Live Experience at the NEC Arena, and to meet two of our favourites Gladiators - Nitro and Diamond!

They were very lovely, and very positive. The game was great too - and we were both very proud to finish the Eliminator in one piece - albeit not a run that broke any records!!

(Have also included some images from MCM London October 2024, where I met Athena, Bionic and Dynamite!) taken in NEC Arena,Birmingham by @anthonygarnon

Meeting Melanie and Omar from Near Mint Condition, at Forbidden Planet London, 24th June 2026.

I've watched their channel for years, and my library has grown as big and as varied as it has because of their videos.

Great meeting them, and I massively appreciate their visit. Thanks guys! Check out their channel on YouTube / Tiktok. taken in Forbidden Planet by @anthonygarnon

"Sorry, must dash!"

Our Doctor Who marathon is complete!

Over the next couple of months we'll catch-up with cake posts celebrating the last few classic Doctors.

For now - the Fifth Doctor!

We went with a vanilla cake, with plum piping and roasted 'blonde' almonds. A subtle play on his costume, and also the contrast between the eccentric Fourth and the milder (i.e. more vanilla) Fifth Doctors.

**June 2025-December 2025**

630 episodes down by the end of this portion of the marathon - just 74 more left to go!

(@jon_claytonlufc has also been marathoning this era - so gets an honourable mention!) taken in Weston-super-Mare by @anthonygarnon

Right, you humoured me with my solo photo. However, let's be real, *this* is the one you've really been waiting for!

Me and Crina started dating in October 2017, and luck would have it we took a selfie on that first date!

Then in April 2018, when taking my annual solo photo I said "let's have some fun, and take a photo of us together." Thus started the second traditional photo - this time of the pair of us!

Nine pointing photos (plus a tenth, the original from date #1).

Over the years we've added our cats Joey (in 2019, born May 2018) and Calley (in 2025, born June 2024). Still no children, but here's hoping!

Adventures this year included: Crina's first San Diego trip, a return to Porto, watching Doctors 5-7 on our Doctor Who marathon (we're one season, so mere weeks away, from finishing up), building a Dalek (up to issue 64), discovering a new Romanian bakery (Ana's) here in Weston, Gladiators live and various cinema seasons. by @anthonygarnon

This project started in 2012, with a fun photo of me pointing at an image of me from 2011 on screen.

In 2013 I repeated the exercise, this time pointing at the 2012 photo.

I've kept up the photos every year. An April tradition! This year is the fifteenth pointing image (and the sixteenth in total, counting 2011's original).

It's been a funny old twelve months since the last photo was taken. Lots of great travel, theatre and events. Lots more reading! Here's to the next twelve, but here's hoping that it's a bit of an easier ride than the last year! taken in Weston-super-Mare by @anthonygarnon

"Well, here we go again..."

Back in September 2021 Crina and myself started (re)watching Doctor Who, in order, from the start. Me for the half dozenth time. Crina for the first time.

Last time we checked in on our marathon it was July 2023, and we'd concluded the Second Doctor's era.

Amazingly since then we've watched the Third and Fourth Doctor's eras in our marathon - and outside of it the entire Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctor eras have come and gone on TV!

The Third Doctor - an era we slowly came to love! Pertwee. UNIT. Venusian Aikido. Our choice of cake to celebrate this run? Red velvet of course!

**Sept 2023-May 2024**

The Fourth Doctor - the highest highs and some of the lowest lows! From gothic Hinchcliffe, to a re-appraised Williams era, and the beginnings of JNT. The cake could only be, as befits Baker in the role, a fruitcake!

**June 2024-June 2025**

559 episodes down now, plus this section of the marathon also took in the fan-made spin-off Wartime.

(Peter Davison era already 2/3s completed, so watch this space for the next update!) taken in Weston-super-Mare by @anthonygarnon
