This will be where I will mostly post pictures of fish, Chicago, my dog, and my wife.

I think there are a handful of moments in life where the only logical thing to do is to step back and appreciate the moment as much as you can. Having so many people that we love and care for and appreciate and cherish all in one place was nothing short of magical. Not a day goes by where I’m not grateful for the people in our lives who uplift us, support us, and let us know that we are loved.

We are so fortunate to have built a community of friends and family who will be there for us as we bring our daughter Maya into the world. I am so excited to start this new chapter of our lives.

Love is a beautiful thing.

A massive thank you to @stilcalidreamin and @clarabelle116 for putting this wonderful celebration together. taken in Oak Park, Illinois by @anthonymisiak

Happy Anniversary to my incredible wife. You are the light of my life and the joy we experience together everyday makes me so grateful to have married you. As we get ready to bring a new member of our family into the world, there is no one else I would rather be with than you on this amazing journey.

Additionally, happy Loving Day to all! Without the Lovings courageously suing the state of Virginia back in 1967, my marriage would not be legal. Their bravery is the reason why we honored them by getting married on June 12th. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @anthonymisiak

As 2025 wraps up, I have been reflecting on what a year it has been. Through tremendous ups and downs I have made it to the end of the year. This year has been shaped by moments of joy, loss, disappointment, exuberance, and perseverance.

Despite it all I am still here thriving and I am proud that I have made it this far. I have faced exceptionally difficult moments this year and they have continually shaped me into who I am.

Through it all there has been a constant presence - the people I have chosen to be in my life. Every day I am reminded of how many people have become part of my community, constantly reminding me that I am not alone in this journey of life.

I can’t believe that at this point in my life I have so many friends - fishing buddies, concert partners, bar goers, and so many more. No matter what I do, where I go, and what I experience, I know that I can always count on a friend to be by my side.

The main takeaway I have from this year is that I am surrounded by the family I have chosen. A beautiful aspect of life is that you have the opportunity to create a family and community of people who value your existence, cherish their time with you, and have you feeling like you belong in this world.

Thank you to everyone, genuinely. No matter how much we have interacted this year, whether it is on a day to day basis or even just a DM or comment, you mean so much to me.

Thank you to my perfect wife, Ashley, who reminds me everyday that I am loved.

This year has been an incredible experience that will stand out for the rest of my life. I hope that 2026 will continue to create memories and a love of the moments that make each day worth remembering. Also, hopefully I catch some great fish and get a bunch of new tattoos.

I don’t really know how to share this but my father passed away this morning. He gave up everything in Poland to start a new life in Chicago and worked his whole life to make sure that my siblings and I could pursue the American Dream. He never got to go back to Kraków.

By trade he was a very proud, talented, and dedicated woodworker. So much of the furniture in our home was made by him. His specialty was intricate kitchen cabinets that were custom made and were ordered for some of the most expensive, sought after real estate in Chicago. He never went to school for it either. He taught himself everything because it was his dream job.

Like many immigrants, he started his own business - ABA Custom Woodwork. Amelia, Bernard, Anthony. Going to his woodshop in Ravenswood right next to the Brown Line as a kid was like going to a different planet - it was where my dad turned random pieces of wood into artwork. Even today, after all these years, the smell of sawdust has an immensely powerful nostalgic effect on me.

But it wasn’t easy in the slightest. There would be days or sometimes weeks where I wouldn’t see my dad. He would leave for work before I woke up and would come home long after I was asleep.

This workload took its toll on him. Throughout my life, from elementary school through college to today, he was in and out of the hospital constantly due to numerous health issues. No one really knew about it but my family and maybe a handful of friends along the way. I don’t know why I never shared it with anyone. I really wish I had.

Our last conversation was about, to the surprise of no one, fishing. I don’t really know what else to say. I will miss him. I just wish he could have gone back to Poland just once.

2024 was an amazing year. Thank you to everyone who supported me through all my ups and downs. I spent this year enjoying life with friends and family, making new friends and reconnecting with old ones. I can honestly say that 2024 was the best year of my life and I have never been happier.

I have mountains to move in 2025 but with everyone in my life being in my corner, I have no doubt that everything will work out. I love you all. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @anthonymisiak

Two years ago today I married the love of my life, @whosashleyanyway . She has been the most incredible wife I could have imagined, being with me through all of the ups and downs that life could throw at us.

The day after we got married I received a call from a journalist at the New York Times. Months earlier, I had submitted our story to be published in their Mini-Vows section. I had completely forgotten about this and I was more than surprised at their request to interview us both individually ASAP. We told the story of how we met, what it had been like to be together, and so on. About a week later our story was published.

I say all of this not to brag (although I did stumble into one hell of a wedding gift) but because of what this meant to me. For those of you who aren’t complete nerds, the New York Times is known for being the main “Newspaper of Record”. According to Wikipedia, “historians [have] relied on The New York Times as a reliable archival and historical record of significant past events”.

“Significant past events”

This is what makes me so glad that our story was published. My first date with Ashley, specifically the moment that I fell in love with her, is now documented forever. It is considered a “significant past event” - not just in my heart but as a historical record to be preserved long after I will be gone from this world.

Ashley, you mean absolutely everything to me and I love you more than I can possibly explain. I owe everything to you and I want you to know that not a day goes by that you don’t bring joy to my life. Thank you for everything.

Our love will literally stand the test of time.
