Photo Fail! 📸❌ Had to settle for a water shot in the end as the dappled light shining through the trees just wasn’t the one. Massive thanks again to @richard.fletcher.3572 for all his help and @dene_edenslakes and Karen keeping us fed with their unbelievable food package. If anyone is looking for a trip to France I highly recommend this place. Go check it out.

Big Fish Thursday!!! It’s been a very tricky last few days. Fish showing signs of spawning, various different weather fronts, and not really much to go on. I stuck to my spot and continued to trickle in a little bit of bait. Around 10am we noticed a few fish feeding and started to see them show again and it looked good for a bite. My mate @richard.fletcher.3572 had a 52 Mirror just after 11 and confidence was high again. Around 4pm I walked along the bank to see if I could see any signs of feeding fish and straight away I noticed a few bubblers near my rigs, moments later a couple of bleeps on my receiver and I was running back to my rods just a short distance away. After another solid scrap she finally went into the net. This lake is mega… 59.8 of solid Mirror Carp.

“The Turtle” 61.8…!!! Strange thing is that I had this one earlier this morning. This time it’s downfall was a Sticky Baits 12mm Yellow Mulbz pop up. I’m actually glad I got to meet her again so I could have a day time shot of her.

First light and the left hand rod was away with this 51.4 Mirror. My lightly baited spot doing a 60 and a 50. Can’t ask for a better start than that!

Before dinner I decided it was time to introduce a bit of bait over my chosen area…a light scattering of 12mm Manilla and a few 16s with the catapult. After a lovely Roast dinner 2 rods were fired out over the spot with matching 12mm white ones on my absolute favourite size 6 Muggas attached to the Gemini tidy booms. Just after midnight the right hand rod was away waking me from my much needed sleep. After an epic 30 minute scrap this 61.4 Mirror finally went into the net. What a lake this is…thanks to @richard.fletcher.3572 as always for a helping hand.

Woken up just after midnight and must of battled with this one for what seemed like an hour… unbelievable power! Again falling to a 12mm Sticky Baits Pineapple & N’Butyric pop up. Thought this one might of gone 50 but settled just under at 49.

5th trip back to Edens Lakes. Not on the North Lake this time…fancied a change of scenery and a crack at some of these giants in Simons Lake.

A very tough week on Etang De Villaine. Having had to battle through freezing cold rain most days and nights, bitterly cold winds, constant weather changes and bloody grass carp picking up your carefully placed rigs. I finished the week with…

x3 Grass Carp
x3 Small Carp
34.8 lb Common
45.14 lb Mirror
47.2 lb Mirror
55 lb Mirror
