This past Sunday, we dove into what it looks like to live a naturally supernatural life⚡️

“Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts…” because without love, we’re just “a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” — 1 Corinthians 13:1, 14:1

When we get God’s heart for people, we can’t help but love them, and we can’t help but desire to see the gifts of the Spirit move through us. ❤️‍🔥

Our beloved Ruel Lake Rivera.

Ruel (Roo-el) = “Friend of God”

What a beautiful inheritance to speak over a life.

A name that speaks of closeness, trust & intimacy with the Lord. Our prayer is that you would walk with Him the way a friend walks beside another, hearing His voice, delighting in His presence & living in deep, unbroken communion with Him all your days.

For your middle name, we chose Lake, inspired by a life that left a lasting imprint on your daddy’s faith as a teenager. A man who believed the Holy Spirit’s power wasn’t meant to be rare, but ordinary! Not a memory of what God once did, but a living reality of what He still does. His life awakened a deeper hunger for God and an unwavering confidence in His power. Our prayer is that your life would carry that same hunger..that you would know the living Christ, be filled and led by the Holy Spirit, and boldly believe that Jesus still saves, heals, restores & makes all things new!!!

Wherever the Lord leads you, may your greatest joy always be to know Him and make Him known.

Aryka and I celebrate another year of marriage, and looking back through these photos, I can’t help but praise God for the life He has allowed us to build together.

So much has changed over the years, we’ve grown, moved cities, prayed, laughed, cried, dreamed, and managed to have 3 babies through the journey, while God has faithfully led us through every season together! I still feel like the luckiest guy to call you my wife! My prayer is that God would continue to mark our YES to one another, that we would keep choosing each other, keep falling more and more in love, and continue allowing our marriage to be vessels and mouthpieces for His Kingdom.

You really are the easiest person to celebrate! You love so deeply and care so intentionally! Watching the woman you’ve become has been one of the greatest gifts of my life!

You’re an incredible wife, the best mama to our two (and soon to be THREE any day now), and make our home the most fun place to be. You carry so much with so much grace, and our family is better because of you. Thank you for loving us so well and for being my best friend through it all. I wouldn’t want to do this life with anyone else.

Our family is so excited to officially announce that we are joining @zionsanclemente

Today was a meaningful moment as our family was commissioned, and I am honored to step into the role of Executive Pastor. We have such deep honor and respect for Pastors @jonpkrist and @tayrenitup , their faithful leadership, and the way they have stewarded this house with love, humility, and vision. It is a privilege to come alongside them as we serve this church and all that God desires to do in and through Zion.

Our family is humbled by this calling, expectant for what’s ahead, and grateful that God has invited us to be part of His work here. We’re excited to love, serve, build, and witness lives transformed by the power of Jesus.

Family Update

4+ years ago, our family said yes to helping launch @marinersmissionviejo. Today marked our family’s final Sunday at Mariners, as I concluded my time as Discipleship Pastor.

It’s hard to put a season like this into words. We’ve watched God move in ways we never could have orchestrated ourselves, in lives being transformed, faith being strengthened, people stepping into community, and countless stories of His grace unfolding right before our eyes.

Pastoring at Mariners has been one of the greatest joys of our lives. @ericbgeiger , your leadership has shaped me in so many ways, and the way you and Kaye made space for Aryka and our kids to be loved and discipled is a gift our family will never stop being grateful for.

And to @erinakerr getting to partner with you to launch this congregation from the ground up has been one of the greatest honors. Thank you for your leadership, friendship, trust, and example. I’m a better pastor, leader, and man because of the years spent serving alongside you.

Happy Mother’s Day to my bride, @arykarivera 🤍

There are so many things people will never fully see behind the scenes, the prayers whispered over our kids, the patience you carry day after day (especially with me), the kindness that fills our home, and the way you intentionally shape the hearts, minds, and souls of our children with the love of Jesus. You don’t just teach our kids, you disciple them.

You lead them in worship, pray with them daily, fill our home with peace, joy, truth, and affection, and model what it looks like to build a life centered on the Gospel. And beyond all of that, you bring so much creativity, fun, and joy into our home. The silliness, laughter, dance parties, imaginative and creative moments, jokes, adventures, and memories you create with our kids are shaping a childhood they will never forget. You make our home feel alive.
