complete, but not finished.
my 1979 Dodge W150 Power Wagon purchased for $1000, no bed and died out when it came to a stop. i parked it then disassembled and began paint. sanded then primed with rustoleum auto primer, then painted with montana hardcore kalani orange and divinity white spray paint. clear coated with autozone spray paint clear coat then polished with walmart polish and compound. i wanted single headlights so i pulled a core support from a 79’ custom at the junkyard. couldn’t find a good priced 79’ grille but i got lucky and found a 74-76 grille in perfect condition for $200. in order for the headlights to be flush, i had to remove them from the core support and bend the legs, then reattach them. i painted the hood, and tailgate which i got from an older man for $225. i pulled some clearance lamps/cab lights from the junkyard a year ago and placed them then wired them in, realizing i need an adapter for the headlight switch. found and pulled one from the junkyard. the truck was originally used as a welding truck and had 3 extra springs in each pack. the rear sat way too high so i pulled those out and lowered it about 4 inches. next i pulled a bed off a 73’ then placed it on the frame and began paint. the 73’ was an adventurer and had all the trim on the bed and cab, so i pulled the cab trim and placed it on mine. i then painted the bed in the same manner, pulled a bumper off a ramcharger then installed it and the truck is now complete! i rebuilt the carb and now it runs, drives, stops, and continues to run! next things to do is get white wheels or paint mine white, tires, do a 2.5” lift, and then start the interior. i purchased this truck in january and just took it for its first drive today july 1st. what a journey it’s been.
