Could this weekend change the country? 🇬🇧We're at a point where we could really do with making our country work better. Less unequal. More sustainable. Ready for the climate future we're facing. Just... more common sense.This weekend was @durhamminersgala, born out of a grassroots movement of people coming together to solve their own problems with huge creativity. The UK has a rich history of communities organising like this, and it's just as alive today.In towns and cities across the country, communities are taking back power and building real community wealth in the face of the cost of living crisis. Thanks to an incredible number of donations over the past week, we’ve raised over 70% of our target. But with only 3 days of match funding remaining, we are still not sure if we will make it to our £25k target. Any organisations that can donate £200 or more in the next few days will automatically become supporting partners of the campaign. ✨🏠 People power is rising 🏠✨On Friday, St Neot's in Cambridgeshire set up a table seating 200 in the town square to start a conversation about the area's future. 100 volunteers are kicking off a year of work asking the whole town three simple questions:→ What do you love about St Neot's?→ What could be better?→ What do you want for its future?The answers are being logged onto a live digital twin of the town, projected on screens so everyone can watch the picture build. And they've got residents, business leaders, and council members signed up to make it happen. If it works, they'll share the model with hundreds of towns across the UK.Friday was just the start.
