Poetry has a way of saying what silence cannot.

Sometimes the words we can’t speak become the words we need to write. ✨

What does poetry help you express?

On the morning of the Fall Equinox, leaves were falling like rain in the sunlight. By night, the real rain came. Beauty lives in the in-between moments, if you stop long enough to notice.

If you have been curious about Emerging Through the Shadows but haven't picked it up yet, today is your sign.

My book is now available on Kindle Unlimited, which means if you already have a KU subscription, it is waiting in your library right now at no extra cost.

It is a collection of poetry and prose about the journey through shadow work, healing, and finding your way back to your own voice. The kind of book you read slowly, with a journal nearby.

Go search for it. I hope it finds you exactly when you need it. 🤍

Identity isn't a destination. It's a verb.
I've been thinking a lot about the boxes we put ourselves in, the job titles, the roles, the should-dos and want-tos.

I've been doom scrolling again. 😔 I know, I know. It's a journey down a dismal rabbit hole and yet here we are. My latest poem on Substack was born from that exact feeling, from the prompt deflection, and from trying to make sense of the world we're living in right now. Come read it. 💜

A day in a writer's life…

Today I went to a fantasy writer's write-in that I found on social media. This was amazing because I got to focus on one of my WIP - a fiction novel - and meet some new friends. Tonight we walked down to some local food trucks for dinner next to a brewery and got a good meal and huckleberry seltzer.

What did you do?

Writer's block isn't always a blank page. Sometimes it's too many pages and too many ideas and absolutely no idea where to begin.
My latest post on The Journey of a Writer is up on Substack and yes, more tea was involved.

Read at an open mic night tonight at @wilwrite. It felt good to get out there and meet some local writers. There's just something about seeing and hearing other creatives to renew your excitement and passion.
