Join Families Against Military Mayhem, USCPR, and Health Care Workers for Palestine Twin Cities on Saturday, November 7th at 1:00 pm at Stewart Park in Minneapolis for a Children’s Press Conference.

As we did in 2024, we will be gathering together as caregivers, healthcare workers, and community members to honor the lives stolen every single day for over three calendar years by the ongoing U.S.-backed Israeli genocide.

We stand in solidarity with all those harmed, k*lled, and struggling to survive in the ongoing quest for liberation against the Zionist occupation. We mourn the lives lost. Come stand with us.

As progressive people of conscience, we oppose and condemn the latest of the fabricated, hypocritical, and politically motivated charges against President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores. Like the previous indictments, these charges are part of the U.S. government’s attempt to seize control of Venezuela’s oil, out of the hands of the Venezuelan people and their government. The charges are false. The U.S. government had no right to abduct President Maduro and First Lady Flores in the illegal invasion of Venezuela on January 3, and the entire trial is illegitimate.

It is clear that the U.S. justice system, an apparatus that regularly engages in its own torture and political repression of U.S. citizens, will not give President Maduro and First Lady Flores a fair trial. Maduro and Flores have retained Barry Pollack and Mark Donnelly, two of the leading trial lawyers in the United States, for their defense team, and Flores herself is a skilled lawyer who represented Hugo Chávez in the 1990s. Nevertheless, before the defense ever enters the courtroom, decisions have already been made by a 92 year old judge who has spent years immersed in the government’s arguments. There is no presumption of innocence.

Despite the lip-service the indictment pays to the will of the Venezuelan people, these charges and the trial itself are a flagrant violation of the Venezuelan people’s right to determine their own destiny. If the trial proceeds, it will set the precedent for the U.S. government to kidnap and jail the leader of any country that seeks to chart its own path, independent of U.S. financial and political interests.

Justice will be found only by building the movement against U.S. imperialism. The people are the makers of history, and we need to speak out and say: the charges against President Maduro and First Lady Flores must be dropped, they must be freed and returned to Venezuela, and the U.S. must cease all intervention in Latin America and around the world. by @antiwaractionnetwork

Today members of RAWC attended a pretrial hearing of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores who have been held prisoner in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center since the Trump administration attacked their country and abducted them. At this hearing we saw further false charges added to a case already filled with false accusations and blatant lies. We demand the charges against President Maduro and First Lady Flores be dropped and for the U.S. to keep its hands off Venezuela!! taken in U.S. Courthouse - Southern District of New York by @antiwaractionnetwork

New York, NY – On October 8, protesters gathered outside of the Southern District Court to demand the release of Cilia Flores. Chants of “Cilia, listen! The people are resisting!” rang throughout the courthouse plaza.

Participating organizations included Brooklyn Against War, Workers World Party, Code Pink, and Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO). The small but steadfast rally of around 30 people lasted from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., closing with a press conference.

Briony Smith, an organizer with Brooklyn Against War and an Anti-War Action Network steering committee member, witnessed as the motion for Cilia Flores’ release to home detention was denied.

Smith stated, “Cilia Flores is facing immense gendered violence. What I witnessed inside the courtroom was a room full of men making medical decisions for a woman.”

Smith continued, “We heard in the arguments today that she has suffered a probable heart attack. Now the judge seems to be under the impression that a heart attack, a heart catheterization, and the procedures that will follow are something that can be recovered from in general population detention among 40 other women, when Cilia is getting three to hours of sleep.”

Tom Burke of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization was also in the courtroom Thursday morning. Burke stated, “Trump is trying to kill the first lady of Venezuela here. He doesn’t care about her life. He doesn’t care about President Maduro. Trump doesn’t care about the Venezuelan people! He just wants their oil. If you think you’re going to find justice in a U.S. federal courtroom, you better think again.”

On October 7th, commemorating 3 years of genocide, we gathered in Calder Plaza to mourn the martyrs of Palestine and to celebrate their ongoing struggle for liberation.

During the course of the event, zionist agitators attempted to disrupt our vigil but we didn't let them. While they sang the US National Anthem and flied IDF flags, community members passed around portraits of martyrs and observed Salat as the sun set.

We demand our city divests from Israel and for the GR Retirement System to cease all future investments in Israel.

Within Grand Rapids we recognize it's our responsibility to raise public consciousness around Palestine and to do what we can to end US aid to israel.

Gaza’s resistance and steadfastness in the face of 3 years of genocide and 78 years of occupation reminds us of our responsibility to continue organizing and fighting for a liberated Palestine, from the river to the sea. taken in Calder Plaza, Grand Rapids Mi by @antiwaractionnetwork

RECAP: USPCN-CHICAGO AND AWC DISRUPT JERRY SEINFELD AT THE CHICAGO THEATRE!

On Friday, October 9th, USPCN-Chicago and the @antiwarchicago disrupted the performance of racist, genocidal zionist @jerryseinfeld at the @chicagotheatre over his support for Israel and the U.S.-backed genocide in Gaza.

Seinfeld has compared those who say “Free Palestine” to the KKK, cheered on the Israeli military, and visited a military-style training facility in the occupied West Bank with his family, where they participated in shooting exercises and watched combat demonstrations at a facility offering simulated attacks depicting Palestinians as targets.

When confronted by protesters, Seinfeld has responded by dancing and mocking them, even joking that he would send money from ticket sales to Israel. His supporters and audience members have also responded to protesters with hostility, intimidation, threats, and physical violence.

Friday’s disruption sent a clear message: Those who defend Israel’s genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza and throughout Palestine will be met with protest and are not welcome on Chicago’s stages without opposition.
