This is a bit of a stupid one, so apologies in advance. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind: resigned as a geologist, started a business, returned to grad school for aerospace, and began working for Raytheon testing the rockets we trust to shoot down nuclear weapons. All through college and high school, I had been using a used laptop I bought for $160 off eBay and nursed along for over 8 years. By the time I graduated, it had so many unrepairable issues I had to finish my degrees by renting out laptops from the school library for months on end. I'm not a materialist. I hate owning stuff. But it's been a dream of mine for a long time to make sure I wouldn't have to do the same in grad school. This is the nicest thing I've ever owned, and I'm really excited to enter a busy next chapter of life. by @anton.hengst

Finally, Kilauea herself. Very active. Got way closer than we should have, crossing lots of completely fractured road and and finally going to stand at the edge of a hundred plus foot cliff where the road just dropped straight into the caldera. Whole thing was on an obvious large scarf that was already failing (we were standing inside a ~20' radius semicircle of failure planes, with about 2-6' slip on all sides), but I figured riding a landslide into a volcano is one of the better ways to go. Wanted to get closer, was hoping to melt the sole of my shoe off and/or get H2S exposure. taken in Kīlauea by @anton.hengst
