Today was about bringing people together to explore the vision for transforming the space into a community-led arts and cultural hub at the heart of Brixton โ€” celebrating Caribbean and Windrush heritage while creating opportunities for arts, music, broadcasting, live events, education, enterprise, young people and community engagement. For the Windrush Square Legacy Team, this is about respecting and preserving the legacy while creating something that can grow for future generations. Weโ€™re excited to continue working alongside Friends of Windrush Square, residents, community organisations and partners to help develop the vision, build new connections and turn ideas into action. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿพ Preserving the legacy. ๐Ÿ”ฅ GRAND RISING SHOW โ€“ MIX UP FRIDAYS ๐Ÿ”ฅ Todayโ€™s show was 100% Dancehall, bringing nothing but pure vibes from start to finish! ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐ŸŽถ A big thank you to our special guest Vaxzein, the talented Jamaican artist now based in Cardiff with his family, for joining us on JuscoolRadio. We spoke about his musical journey, his latest memoir album, and the inspiration behind tracks including โ€œThankful,โ€ โ€œAll A Joy,โ€ โ€œDonโ€™t Post,โ€ and โ€œCheddar.โ€ ๐ŸŽต Vaxzein also became the first artist to take on the brand-new JuscoolRadio Musical Challenge! The challenge takes artists through the soundtrack of their lives, asking them to choose the songs or instrumentals that resonated with them at different agesโ€”before 10, during their teens, 20s, 30s and beyond. The answers reveal the music that helped shape them into the artists they are today. ๐Ÿ‘€ Which songs and instrumentals did Vaxzein choose?
