Lors de ma résidence à @providenza_ , j’ai travaillé à l’écriture d’un scénario de long métrage (co écrit avec Guillaume Breaud) intitulé « Agony in the Palace ». Ce huis clos, situé au cœur d’un régime autocratique en déclin, explore les mécanismes du pouvoir, sa mise en scène et sa toxicité. Le film envisage le pouvoir comme une maladie : une forme organique qui se développe, contamine tout, produit ses propres symptômes et progresse jusqu’à son stade terminal. La video « Be Careful what you wish for » faite durant la résidence fait écho aux thèmes qui traversent ce projet d’écriture. Conçue comme un triptyque, elle met en tension la fascination qu’exerce le pouvoir, son apparat théâtral, avec sa décrépitude inéluctable et son ambiguïté morale fondamentale. On y croise Marilyn Monroe, picola sorelina, un dictateur occidental, un empereur au visage et corps calciné, un gâteau d’anniversaire et une explosion nucléaire : autant de figures et de motifs qui composent une même constellation où le spectacle, le désir, le pouvoir et la catastrophe deviennent indissociables. CRUISING CORAZÓN - (Full vid on YT)
An entertainer is about to lose faith in what he does best, as performance starts to feel less like expression and more like repetition. Something still moves through him, but it no longer feels sustained by belief, only by habit and momentum.

It sinks into the body between sensuality, eroticism, and the fatigue of excess, carrying a lived sadness where desire still exists but no longer fully justifies itself, like pleasure continuing after meaning has already thinned out. 🦴

HISTOIRE DES TÉNÈBRES (80’) est mon premier long métrage. Il est comme je l’ai rêvé; fait maison, fait pirate, sans idéologie, obssessionel, risqué, avec la foi et le travail acharné d’amis magnifiques. Un film imparfait et insolent, baroque et trash. Et il y a même de l’humour pour une fois.
Je vous invite à l’aimer ou à le détester, ou les deux à la fois, il accepte tous sentiments contradictoires. C’est son principe, à l’image de ses personnages.

Histoire des ténèbres convoque les figures de Néron, Dante, Sade et Ludwig II dans l’ivresse de leurs obsessions, entre extase et damnation, fascination et répulsion. Portrait de famille qui vacille au bord du gouffre.

Merci infini à tous ceux qui ont travaillé à mes côtés pour rendre le film possible, hors de tout système conventionnel, et aller plus loin hors de la société!
