Happy International Women’s Day 🌷

Celebrating the women creators who continue to shape our musical landscape with courage, resilience, imagination, and artistry. Through their work, new music is written, new voices are heard, and new paths are opened for the generations to come.

Thank you for your incredible work and for the friendships that make this journey so meaningful 💛

📸 @anitawasikphotography

Jet whistle… but make it contagious 💨

Flute plays it once.
Strings: “wait… we can do that too.” 😅

Hear it live at the premiere of

What excites me most about LA – Homeland is collaboration.

Composers who move between academia, electronics, concert music, and media — that versatility is pure LA energy.

Roman Ryterband’s music introduced by Dennis Papazyan ✨

A little drama.
A little theatrics.
A lot of flute energy.

You’ll hear it (and see it) at LA – Homeland

Friday | Feb 27 | 6:45 PM | Newman Hall | USC

Grateful to @polishmusiccenter at USC for sharing the scores from their Ryterband collection and for preserving Polish music in Los Angeles.

Behind every “beautiful moment” on stage…
there are about 300 questionable ones in the practice room.

See the final version Friday 🌸

The ocean doesn’t begin with a wave. It begins with a shimmer.

In Path by the Sea - world premiere by Yeonsuk Jung, flute and harp emerge from near silence, shaping sound like light on water.

@kaitlin.miller.harp introduces one of the harp techniques used in the piece 🌊🐋

LA: Homeland is a project about community.

It brings together music written by composers connected to Los Angeles and performed with friends who are part of my musical life here. Some of these pieces were written for us, some reflect longer histories rooted in this city — all of them grew out of collaboration, trust, and shared creative space.

I can’t wait to share this evening with you.
