My definition of success has changed a lot over the years.

When I was younger, I thought it was about getting more — more money, more work, more recognition.

Now I value something different: having control over my time and being able to choose the direction of my life.

Maybe success isn’t about having more.

For a long time, I thought every decision had to lead somewhere permanent.

But life doesn’t really work that way.

Sometimes a plan ends, you don’t know what’s next, and you just have to make the next decision.

You can change direction without having made the wrong decision.

Not everything needs to be figured out in advance.

For a long time, I thought being capable of learning anything was enough.

But being able to learn something quickly isn’t the same as having years of experience doing it.

I also mentioned something my father told me about football teams as an example of this idea.

At some point, you have to stop trying to be good at everything and start building around what you’re actually good at.

I realized something recently.

You can be busy all day and still not actually be moving forward.

Sometimes being busy just makes us feel productive.

But being productive and making progress aren’t always the same thing.

Maybe it’s worth asking yourself:
