How do I eulogize the best dog ever?? There are not enough words.
I’d never heard of an Italian Greyhound before, but my ex, T, really wanted one. The first one I met in person, well, I wasn’t a fan. It wasn’t until I saw a photo of the most beautiful baby boy with a blaze and I knew… he’s the one.

I picked him up on leap day of 2008, and that boy leapt into my arms and heart. At that moment, I knew an adventure was going to happen…and what an adventure we had for 18 years.

At his first vet visit, the doctor said, “you’re going to have your hands fill with this one!” My hands and heart sure were full…of love.

At 2 years old, his leg was broken in a freak accident. (He was kicked by a teen boy running in the dog park.). I started taking him to work with me and holding him in a sling while I taught. The students loved him! I fully believe carrying him in this sling is when he started noticing the changes in my heart and blood pressure. More on that later. When he stopped going to school, the students asked for him constantly. That’s when we decided, for our annual Pet Week theme, Antonio would visit and help teach my students about responsibility, shelter dogs, and more. They loved it!

When I medically retired, I noticed more and more how in tune Antonio was with my health. He had been doing it for some time, and I noticed when I ignored his signs, I’d regret it. That’s when we focused on service dog training. He was the best SD this girl could ask for. He tasked up until his last couple of years.

I started his fb page in 2011. It had opened the door to so many friendships! In 2012, we began Antonio’s #YouAreLoved campaign, something I was so proud of. We will be having one more next year to honor both Antonio and his hu-cousin one last time.

I want to thank everyone for all of the love you have shared with us. It truly means the world to me. I have so much more to say, but my eyes are full of tears.

It’s been raining since last night, and you know what that means! It’s sweater weather!! Mom pulled out a couple of our angel brother Mr. Pickles’ jammies. He was a wee pup, so we fit pawfectly in them. Our neighbor even told us we’re ready for winter!
We’re thinking of everyone who is affected by the extreme weather right now. Hope you all stay safe. 💙🐾

Please excuse the mess!! 🙈
We were working on our trainings today and I wanted to share this with you. (Sound up.). Also, when I say, “seduto” to Mateo, I’m telling him to sit in Italian 🤣💙🐾
They love their crates. They often go in when they want alone time. I’ve always treated it as a positive experience ..giving them their filled Toppls in there as well as their “fish sticks” (Cod skin chews,) so when I need to crate them, it’s not seen as punishment.

P.s. I don’t speak Italian, I’m just learning different commands to work with the boys.

Same mom, same beach, same Fundle, different iggy… 10 years apart almost to the day. (10/09/2016 vs 10/03/2026.)
Mateo here. Yesterday Mom had an opportunity to be in the area where she used to take my angel brother Antonio. It was such a peaceful place for her, she wanted to share it with me. Life is good. 💙🌊🐾

We’ll just call this #TiggerTuesday!!! Whenever Mom takes Adamo his brekkie and din din, Bowie literarily bounces off the wall. Mom finds it so funny and sings this song as Bowie is bouncing. Hope you enjoy his quirkiness!! 🤣💙🐾

Today we are remembering our hu- cousin who crossed rainbow bridge 15 years ago. You are deeply missed.
