D. 12. december kl. 13 går det løs på Søndre Campus. Om en uge forsvarer jeg min ph.d.-afhandling, "Skriv med r*vhullet": Læsninger af homoerotiske fortællinger i ny dansk litteratur. Det føles både skræmmende og lykkeligt nu at være nået hertil.
Jeg glæder mig meget til at præsentere afhandlingen og diskutere den med bedømmelsesudvalget. Jeg er så glad for deres bedømmelse - de har læst så grundigt og stiller så gode, kritiske spørgsmål. Det er meget ~specielt~ at læse nogens læsningen af noget, man selv har skrevet. Men også kilde til stor benovelse, skulle jeg hilse og sige.
Jeg glæder mig omend endnu mere til at fejre kulminationen og enden på tre års arbejde med kolleger, venner og familie. Uf! Blir rørt bare ved tanken!
Men jeg ville da også lyve, hvis jeg påstod ikke også at være lidt nervøs ved tanken om, hvad der mon venter på den anden side! Den tid, den glæde - én ting ad gangen! Først har jeg et forsvar at forberede.

Det er ved at sive ind, at jeg indsendte min ph.d.-afhandling til bedømmelse i fredags oven på en sommer i munkecellen aka kontoret på Søndre Campus ✨✨✨✨✨ det føles så underligt og vidunderligt på samme tid, så stort og samtidig helt stille og roligt, for nu venter bedømmelsesprocessen.

ÅH! Er lykkelig og træt.

Manchester uge 13

In which rooms were cleaned, things thrown out, other things deemed more important saved and brought along. In which walks were had, new places discovered, more familiar places revisited. In which goodbyes were said, hugs were hugged, drinks were had, laughs were laughed, tears were shed in the solitude of walking home alone from town one last time.

Manchester (+ two day Prague excursion) uge 11/12

The summer sun is finally kissing our rosy cheeks in Manchester, and it is weird to think that I will be leaving in a weeks time, this place that I didn't know anything about three months ago. Three months is no time at all, and yet long enough for a city to creep under your skin, long enough to feel that you actually inhabited it, even if only shortly. Three months is long enough to establish preferred routes through a city, the lines I draw on a map with my movements, the cycle through peel park when I'm going to campus. Three months is long enough to establish a kind of routine that I will leave behind and miss, surely, even if I also miss the rhythm of life back home in Copenhagen. Three months really is long enough to feel that I will leave something behind, but also to know that I have gained so much, new insights, new friendships and this relation to Manchester as I place I inhabited for three months.

Also, three months is long enough to buy a shitload amount of books, Jesus Christ.

Also, I saw Troye Sivan live, and it was so gay and hot, it made me even gayer, I think. 🥵 by @antonjuul_

Manchester uge 8/9

If you are wondering, I am having an incredibly gay time in Manchester. This week I have been completely swept away by the intense and gratifying experience of Sexuality Summer School. There is something so special about the kind of community and intimacy that can arise in the course of five days of trying to think together as a group about something. It is not easy, at times it is intensely exhausting, but really, this is the kind of academic experience I love the most.

Wednesday was half-way-through-my-stay-day.

Saturday I felt a bit fragile, went to Liverpool, bought some books, ate some ramen, went home and watched a lot of Abbott Elementary.
