One voice at the right moment can change a life. 🎙️

On this episode of The Mentor Sessions with BigMike, I sit down with Philadelphia author and journalist Antonne Jones. Antonne went from the streets of South Philly to standing in front of a judge whose warning stopped him cold, and he chose a different path.

We go deep into the Lex Street Massacre, the deadliest mass killing in modern Philadelphia history. Seven people were killed, four innocent young men were wrongly convicted, and Antonne spent years uncovering the truth.

We also talk about what our boys are missing right now: men who will look them in the eye and say, "I see you."

Despite challenges, there is still a way to succeed.

Antonne Jones reminds us why human kindness still wins — see people as people. Not color. Not finances. Just people.

And here's what I've learned: overcoming adversity isn't just about pushing through the bad. It's about choosing to see the good that's still here.

Let me leave you with this. There's a lot of good people who mean well and help others. Be one of them.

Are you choosing to see the good today? Drop GOOD in the comments if this hit you, and share this with someone who needs hope right now.

Respect is worth more than money. In Utah County, in Philly, and especially inside institutions — respect and disrespect carry more exchange value than actual dollars. And here's what I've learned: Most boys aren't lacking potential. They're lacking a man who will look them in the eye and show them what respect really costs.Let me leave you with this — where did you learn that lesson?Drop RESPECT in the comments if you felt this, and share this with one young man who needs to hear it today. Be that mentor. He's waiting.

Every Thursday during the summer, something special happens at Crotona Park in the Bronx—and it’s coordinated by my uncle, @grandmastercaz07 of the legendary Cold Crush Brothers. 🎧 🎤

This summer alone, guest DJs included pioneers and legends like Grandmaster Flash, DJ Hollywood, Funkmaster Flex, plus Philly’s own DJ Cash Money and DJ Too Tuff.

But what truly makes it special is the crowd.

You’re standing alongside the first-generation supporters who were there when hip-hop was being built at The Fever, T-Connection, and jam spots across the Bronx and Harlem—plus heads traveling in from Amsterdam, the UK, Italy, and all across the US.

The moment you walk into Crotona Park, you feel the energy. You’re in the birthplace of hip-hop, surrounded by the people who lived it. The pioneers are right there—taking pictures, signing autographs, sharing stories, and showing love. Hearing that history firsthand is priceless.

If you love this culture, make the trip at least once. And when you do, support the pioneers: buy their merch, follow them, share their work, and give them their flowers. Their foundation opened doors for rappers, DJs, writers, filmmakers, and creators worldwide.

Salute to Uncle Caz and his team for another incredible summer, and respect to everyone who came through.

See y’all back in the Bronx next summer. Preserve the history. Keep the culture alive. ✊🏾

For the past few months, I’ve been working on an exciting new project—Equal Verdicts, a vertical true crime series based on the real story of the Lex Street Massacre, the deadliest street massacre in Philadelphia’s history.

Before the official launch, I wanted to give my family and friends an exclusive early look.

The first 5 episodes are FREE.

We’re officially halfway through production on Equal Verdicts: The Vertical Series, and I couldn’t be more proud of what our team has accomplished so far.

Bringing one of the first true crime vertical series to life has been an exciting challenge, and every episode continues to reinforce our vision of telling compelling, high-quality stories in a new format.

We’re also looking forward to announcing our upcoming New York City premiere and industry mixer, where we’ll share an exclusive first look at the series and connect with creators and fellow industry professionals.

More updates coming soon. We’re just getting started!
