heck of a start to 2025 january was a crazy month. did a tiny bit of cold weather sitting and called it duck hunting. impulse took a week off work. drove 16 hours to Missouri to see my people. dev and I hit the barn record store which was awesome. tuesday i drove to Tulsa to see two of my good friends. found a cool outdoors gear store there. got pulled over by a cool Oklahoma State Police officer on my way back to joplin. thursday we loaded up in the van and went back down to Tulsa to see Treaty Oak. got diner food and braums again because when out west you get braums. Mr. Elliot got a ton of head scratches. brenton and i shot a ton. came home to see my dood. started february off by making sam feel short at two of my favorite people’s WEDDING. and saw John Morgan in concert. oddly enough this is the two months that i have hardly any pictures of my nieces and nephews. i just haven’t seen them as much and have managed 2 weddings in a row without getting any pictures with them. if you are a single uncle or aunt, you know what it means to have a couple kids running up to you to say hi and give you a hug. i wouldnt be the same without those kids in my life. they deserve a shoutout and don’t even realize it. love those munchkins. been a weird last year or so. there’s ups and downs of feeling lonely, but somehow peopled out at the same time. it’s this time in life i think people learn the most about themselves. pick their path. do the most growing. as the song says, they find the life in livin’. i don’t know the whole song word for word. but It somehow speaks to me every time i’ve listened to it. trying to learn to soak up the moments as they happen. trying to make a life worth living. internal battles aren’t easy. overcoming them is bound to be worth it. don’t stop trying to overcome them anywayyy. i tend to ramble when i have a lot of thoughts about life. hopefully you get a little thought stirred up. shahthatttt to a new year. by @antvkclem
we did it. Bowdrie got out for his first duck hunt. the 8 months of training has paid off. he recovered 3 of the 4 I sent him on. I don’t want to include the fourth in the count because it was such a far shot, he couldn’t see the bird on the water. The three that he DID get, he didn’t even see when they got shot… I brought him around the beaver hutch, pointed, and sent him out. The rest was up to him once he started swimming. If you know anything about training retrievers and/or duck hunting, you know that all three of those were REALLY FAR retrieves for a puppy to have to get for his first hunt. I couldn’t be more proud of this dog. SHAHTAHT to Antonio who doesn’t have Instagram for the first picture and the last video. And SHAHTAHT to @xavi__boricua for shooting the three ducks that Bowdrie went and got, and for videoing Bowdrie’s first two retrieves. #knockinducks #duck #retriever #duckdog by @antvkclem
Bowdrie is A YEAR OLD TODAY!!! From the first picture I took of him until the most recent (not including the hundreds of saved-on-snapchat videos and pictures) this pup has been a heck of a ride. His first snow, his first retrieves, first time walking around with me to the word “heel,” first time jumping up onto the truck bed when I sent him there from a long way away. Can’t forget to mention the infinite amounts of times he has caught the zoomies. I have learned so much. I’ve had a ton of fun training him and getting him ready for his first hunt that I can’t wait to take him on. HUMASSIVE thanks is due to @hizwif and @popstwo3 for letting me dive into this world when we did. It was a busy time in our lives. So throwing a puppy into the mix made it a little hectic. Also. Sorry not sorry. I’m going to post a few funny pictures on my story because it only allows 10 here. by @antvkclem
couldn’t decide which one to post so i decided to post a bunch Bowdrie just turned 6 months and so i figured he should finally get a post to himself by @antvkclem
I never really thought of myself as the person to make posts about things like this. I just frankly don’t like it. Too much sadness. But, it’s Papa. The man was everything but sadness. One constant that I have found in the memories I have heard, both from friends, and family, was the hugger he was. And as someone who was blessed enough to get them all the time, I don’t rightly believe there is a word to describe his hugs... but there are words behind why he hugged. But words such as compassion and care, and wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the big one... LOVE... this man was so full of it. He loved his family, his friends, and even though I doubt he even had them, he probably loved his enemies. I did most of my crying when I found out we were near the end. Didn’t really do any when I found out he had passed... the hardest I fought back tears was when I was leaving Granny and Papa’s house after telling all the family goodbye, and not hearing him say “Drive careful, come back and see us.” I may not see him next time I’m at the little house he shared with Granny, but he will still be there. He always had this saying when the phone rang... “If it’s the Sheriff, tell him I’m not home.” Well Pops, if the Sheriff ever DOES call, I’ll make sure to tell him the whole truth this time. by @antvkclem
I guess I gradimitated or something. Not that I have done any school work since March 14 or anything. But major props to those that actually had to, and got it done on time💪🏼. . Thanks to the people that were cool to me from Day ☝🏼 in both JR and SR years when I got to Godwin. Meant a lot. You know who you are. . To the other 2020 grads. we are a part of history, so don’t let it flop. Y’all be cool. Stay classy. . 📸: @farmers_tan00 by @antvkclem

God, great friends, David’s sunflower seeds, Gold Peak Tea, Biscuits and Gravy, Bacon and Eggs, trail mix, red bandanas, Intex twin air mattresses, mountains, the night sky, and the Potomac River all combine to make one thing... great memories. by @antvkclem
