For Nicola L., art was deeply connected to the people around her. Her apartment at the legendary Chelsea Hotel in New York was a meeting place for friends, family, artists and performers, where dinners, parties and art became part of everyday life.

Tonight, curator and philosopher @geraldine.gourbe takes us into the lively network of artists, performers and thinkers Nicola surrounded herself with, from Carolee Schneemann and ORLAN to Grace Jones. The tour explores how these connections shaped Nicola’s practice and her approach to art, collaboration and collectivity.

In the entrance hall of GNYP Gallery, Nadia Guerroui transforms the space with a site-specific installation that bathes its distinctive glass dome in a dreamlike blue, evoking the atmosphere of a swimming pool.

Her intervention is part of Un Jardin d’Hiver, a group exhibition curated by Sam Steverlynck that brings together works by Che Go Eun, Nadia Guerroui, Iasonas Kampanis, Yorgos Maraziotis, Wesley Meuris, Maya de Mondragon, Lucian Moriyama, Bruno V. Roels, Mira Sanders, Filip Vervaet and Oriol Vilanova.

Taking its title from Marcel Broodthaers’ 1974 installation, the exhibition considers the winter garden as a space where nature is cultivated, contained and transformed by human hands, bringing together ideas of artificial nature, exoticism, phantasmagoria, Art Nouveau and colonialism.

Last days to visit Serious Topics, an exhibition of paintings by thirty American artists.

The exhibition is titled after Serious Topics, a Los Angeles-based artist-run project space whose program centers on painters whose work earns the description. Including works by: Aaron Maier-Carretero, Amy McCormac, Annabel Osberg, Anne Harris, Annie Lapin, Charles Karubian, David Humphrey, Elizabeth Tremante, Heather Brown, Jaqueline Cedar, Jesse Wiedel, Joshua Aster, Julian Rogers, Justine Di Fiore, Kristin Calabrese, Lisa Edelstein, Lucas Reiner, Margarete Hahner, Michael Arata, Michiko Itatani, Michelle Fierro, Mike Reesé, Nancy Evans, Rebecca Campbell, Robert Russell, Salomón Huerta, Shiri Mordechay, Stephen Westfall, Susanna Coffey and Vanessa Conte.

The Image Generator takes over Kunsthal Extra City for its 8th edition, bringing theatre, visual art, sound and performance together under one roof.

The program includes interactive installations, live performances and sound works, presented throughout the space. Visitors can move between different works and performances and experience the programme at their own pace.

With Bart Lodewijks, Benjamin Verdonck & Lucas van Haesbroeck, Cally Spooner, Charlotte Bouckaert, Cie Les Connexions Oubliées, Evelien Cammaert, Ildikó Horváth (with performers Jakobe Geens, Amit Palgi and Niek Vanoosterweyck), Karl Van Welden, Line Boogaerts & Ditmar Goes, Lotte Boonstra, Moni Wespi, Mylan Hoezen, Niel de Vries, Numina Gneisspecker, Samuel Baidoo, Smila Mania, Vinny Jones and Younes Baba-Ali.

In Resonance of the Past, the inventor’s obsessive search meets the open, candid gaze of the child. The works on display move between naive mechanics, tactile sculptures, and assemblages where the maker’s trace is still tangibly present. This is not about polished artworks or heavy theories, but about physical objects and imagery that dare to falter, that dare to question themselves.

Participating artists are Polien Boons, Attila Buonsenso, Jiyoung Chu, Deveny Faruque, Franciscus Kuijpers, Delta van Melle, Yinon Avior Philipsohn, and Alice Vanderschoot.

These eight artists each share, in their own way, that same melancholic gaze. Although they work with completely different materials and approaches, they look at time in a similar way: not as something that has passed, but as something that accumulates in the things around us.

Resonance of the Past, the new group exhibition at @basealphagallery, is now on view until October 17.

All eyes on Brussels for @rendezvousbxl this week!

Across more than 95 venues, galleries, public institutions, private foundations, auction houses and artist-run initiatives come together for four days of exhibitions and events, celebrating the city’s vibrant art scene and cultural heartbeat.

RendezVous puts artists at the heart of the program, with a number of studio visits organised in collaboration with participating galleries and Brussels-based residency programs.

For those wondering where to begin, Salon de RendezVous by @espaceaygo offers a starting point at the former Clearing Gallery in Forest, a site-specific installation doubling as a meeting point and a set for the Salon Encounters program.

RendezVous, Brussels Art Week takes place from 10–13 September.

Highlighted here is Edouard Devriendt with Then let’s keep dancing, bringing together a selection of new paintings that continue his ongoing exploration of observation, memory, and atmosphere. Working between the worlds of painting and object design, Devriendt approaches both practices with the same sensitivity: a desire to capture what is often overlooked and preserve what might otherwise pass unnoticed.

With the start of a new season and many new exhibitions opening, Ben Sledsens’ An Apple for the Road opens today at @timvanlaeregallery.

In this new series of paintings, wonder, attentiveness, and imagination take center stage. Building on an extensive body of works on paper, Sledsens embraces a freer and more intuitive approach, exploring new compositions, perspectives, and motifs while retaining his vibrant use of colour and dreamlike imagery.

Water, light, reflections, flowers, animals, and familiar moments from everyday life become invitations to slow down and look more closely. Moving between the recognizable and the elusive, the paintings create a personal world where observation, memory, desire, and art history converge.

An Apple for the Road celebrates beauty not as escapism, but as a way of experiencing the world anew, creating space for wonder, contemplation, and connection in an age of constant acceleration.

This weekend, FOMU presents the graduation projects of the Master's students in Photography from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Admission is free, and the exhibition can be visited during FOMU's regular opening hours.

The Graduation Show features work by Luna Del Volgo, Efstathia Flokatoula, Zoée Luna Gaudion, Rusnė Gurevičiūtė, Erik Mathias, Daphne Portokaloglou, and Aleksandra Skliarenko.

The exhibition approaches the idea of crossing as a space of projections, distortions, fantasies, fragments, and hidden rituals. It unfolds as a procession of transformation and reconstruction.

Each artist brings together their own stories and visual practice. While their interests, experiences, and methods differ, their paths intersect in a shared space. The result is a map of overlapping trajectories, where growth emerges as a collective process shaped by difference.

Last days to see the group exhibition Clay Matters @keteleer_gallery.

Clay Matters approaches ceramics as a living, thinking material and brings together artists who each work with the medium in their own way: from a poetic, mythical, or organic approach to conceptual and sculptural experiments. In addition to artists closely associated with the gallery, such as Luca Monterastelli, Valgerður Sigurðardóttir, Clara Spilliaert, Koen Theys, and Patrick Van Caeckenbergh, guest artists have also been invited, including Justine Grillet, Cameron Jamie, Pei-Hsuan Wang, and Johan Creten.
