POSTS STORIES REELS

Realized I’ve been posting on here for a while and never actually introduced the person behind the lens. So, hi. I’m Anu.

A few facts to get us up to speed:

I’m a Computer Science undergrad, usually running on little sleep between classes and overnight shifts.

I shoot almost exclusively on an older Canon Rebel XSi. Honestly, I hate mirrorless systems. I need the heavy, mechanical clack of a real DSLR.

I’m naturally drawn to two things: gritty sports action, and finding clean, simple lines in everyday spaces. Sometimes I combine the two :)

If I had to describe my style, it’s all about heavy contrast and raw energy. I don’t just want to take a standard picture; I want to strip the frame down to the bare bones. Whether I’m shooting an athlete mid-play or an empty building downtown, I’m always looking for cool patterns, deep shadows, and bold colors.

When I don't have a camera in my hand, I’m obsessed with clean graphic design, trying out new instruments, and coding.

This page is basically my digital sketchbook. The behind the scenes, the late nights, and the reality of shooting the city my way.

Sooooo if you're into heavy contrast, cool lines, and finding the art in everyday spaces, you're in the right place. by @anu_cr2

Here are some frames from a day of hanging out and creating for @idimimubo

Back in May, I shot and filmed with Mubo, not just for the photos and the vlogs, but for the vibe. We spent the day capturing moments around Downtown Toronto, experimenting with ideas and just having fun behind the camera. It's so cool when a project feels less like work and more like hanging out with a friend who's also passionate about what they do. Grateful for the experience and the memories, what do you think of them? This is a very long overdue post but better late than never :)

SPECTRA

Before I settled here in St. John's, NL, I spent years documenting the various things that caught my eye in Toronto. Looking back at the archives, I realized my memory of the city wasn’t defined by landmarks, but by specific frequencies of light. To me, this collection represents the foundation of my photography career and my development as an artist. These images are the moments that taught me how to see.

To close that chapter and fund my new work on the East Coast, I’ve curated a limited print collection titled "Spectra". I’ve selected 9 specific images that represent the dominant tones of the urban landscape: Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Purple. White and one special image with the absence of colour, Black and White.

I want you to have a piece of this moment to look at for a long time to come, something permanent that invites you to pause and live inside that feeling every time you walk past it.

The Spectra collection is available starting today. The prints will stay up till the end of the week, after which they will go back into the archive.
Grab a print for your space when you can.

In light of @nfldrogues finishing their 2026 season, here are my absolute favorite photos from the season in no particular order. So grateful to have gotten the chance to document this incredible pro basketball team, fans and performers through their wins and losses.

Till next season,
Anu

THE ART IN SILENCE.

A collection of photos I held onto for way too long from my time in Toronto while testing out the R50 V both for video and photo. The cover image was the first ever photo I captured with my mobile phone as a photographer in 2024.

Some photos don't need a human element and are absolutely perfect when left in complete silence.

Let me know what you think about these photos!

THE ART OF HOCKEY.

My first official media assignment for The Muse. Out of a 2.5 hour game, I only had 20 minutes on the glass to get my shots. It was a quick reminder that having a crystal clear plan of action always beats having unlimited time.

Instead of chasing the puck, I leaned entirely on my fine art street photography background to find the friction and framing in the chaos.

For the gear perfectionists, here's what I have to say: No massive telephoto lenses were used. The color frames are an Sony a6400 with a kit lens, pushed hard in post. The BW photos? Taken right on my phone. Go take those photos you think you can't capture with your current camera anyways.

Vision and execution over equipment. Every single time.

First time capturing Swimming, pretty much the first time capturing sports in general!! The energy was high and it was the first time where my gear caused me to struggle with the photos I capture. So I decided to lean into experimenting with different compositions and I'm glad they turned out great, it proves that gear doesn't matter as much as you think!! Let me know which one is your favorite in the comments!!
