Spotted these Ganpati Bappas in a span of just under 2 hours while on the road.. It's that time of the yearrr!!! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸŒΊβ€οΈ
P. S. Sorry for the poor video quality.. Was totally unprepared to record these videos and took many of them from behind the (glass) window of the car.

At the end of the day, cinema is not about how much you see on screen, but about how much you feel 🧑
Finally saw this masterpiece last Tuesday quite aptly and coincidentally (or not), and the emotions started building up right from the beginning! We didn't even want to get up after the movie was over.. Which was good as the BTS of this movie is equally interesting!! Swipe to see the sankalp, and the miracle during the shoot!!!
Did you know they didn't resort to conventional marketing but instead organised Bhandaras across the city? Just the way Baba would have it!!! 🧑
They also started and ended the shoot with the Hanuman Chalisa, ate only veg food.. Alcohol and abusive language was banned on the set.
They travelled in trains as they had a very low budget for the film. It was made in under 2Cr and has already crossed 100Cr in box office collections today. @filmervishal You have created the Ramayan of this generation!! It's something one can watch again and again.. And still look forward to it everytime. What have you done??!!! πŸ‘πŸ™ Pranaams to the entire team!!! πŸ™πŸ§‘

P.S. If you still haven't watched the movie, please go watch it!! ✨️ HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The one where we had the F.R.I.E.N.D.S Experience!!! 😍 Some glimpses of the afternoon that will forever go down in memory.. ❀️ Thought I had outgrown this show and I have, in a lot of ways.. But being here amidst all this took me back to the time when this show just made sense and brought warmth to life!! The bond between these 6 characters was the first onscreen chemistry I loved..😍❀️ I must say, this experience was worth it.. Glad I gave in to my FOMO πŸ˜… The detailing on each set was so admirable.. And so was the lighting!
There was a lot more here from the show, apart from the sets.. Unfortunately, Instagram allows just 20 pics & videos.. πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ 😬 (May add more to Highlights 😬)

The Aunt-Niece chronicles!! πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ Happy Birthday Lavanya πŸ€—πŸ€— My dear niece, travel companion, confidante, first intern (😬) and also, may I add, "impulse" partner! 😎
For who else chimes in with "Lesss go!!!" for an impromptu & totally unplanned trip to Mahakumbh.. Or resonates with the idea of going to Dasashwamedh Ghat (Prayagraj) at midnight and then further walking all the way to the other side (Jhunsi) to have gud-waali chai at 1 a.m.!!! πŸ˜€ Or even indulges the idea of spontaneously riding to Badrinath after a hot afternoon at Rishikesh (I am sure we would have gone atleast halfway there, if it was just the two of us πŸ˜¬πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ).
May we continue to ride on impulses, make more memories and share stories that we never thought we would (given our age-gap😬) πŸ˜ŠπŸ™Œ You're entering the most fluid and yet the BEST decade of your life. 20s are when the experiences widen, transitions multiply and so do relationships/friendships. God bless you and may the grace always be with you..πŸ™πŸŒΈ

I know it's a little early for end-of-year posts but would you believe me if I said I already know what the most defining moments were for me in 2025 and I don't think anything that happens in this year now can top these? Yes, perhaps not even if I get married to the love of my life πŸ˜› Uploaded in the order in which they occurred..πŸ’– There's a lot more that happened this year but these events were the ones that either shaped a path or led to growth and brought meaning. Looking forward to what more this journey of life brings. So grateful for all this grace! πŸ™πŸŒΈπŸ§‘ Takeaway for this year: When you feel you're alone, Supreme Consciousness and the Guru Tattva nudges and reminds you of its presence. This is something I experienced in this year. In so many different ways! πŸ™
Still hoping to get through some personal struggles.. But for now, I am glad to be equipped with the energy, the blessings and the tools for it πŸ’–

Life-altering experiences like these! 🧑 If you have chanted with him IRL, you know what I mean πŸ™‚ Last year was the first time I attended a Krishna Das kirtan (eternally grateful to how that worked out πŸ™). This year, I was able to buy tickets & also ended up attending it with mom & some friends ❀️ It being on Kartiki (Dev Uthani) Ekadashi made the experience all the more powerful πŸ˜πŸ™β€οΈ
There was a moment after Kashi Vishwanath Gange where our hearts just opened up & we couldn't help express our love towards him!
.
Would like to address something:
This year, I saw some reels & posts about "Bhajan Clubbing", which were obviously written & created to garner views by timing it to align with his kirtan tour. What these folks don't realise is that Krishna Das uses real, traditional instruments & is devotional in a sense that is as raw as it can get. There's no DJ, bass / techno beats, EDM (though I am not judging any of that). He sings to his guru Neem Karoli Baba πŸ™ The authenticity of the emotion / devotion is what draws all of us in. It's the presence of the Guru that is invoked & felt by all through his voice 🧑 Those saying that we need a white guy to make bhajan culture popular are uprooted IMO. Because, do you not attend or participate in bhajans or kirtans in your households & temples? And if he is making this culture popular in those ultra-urban circles who are not exposed to this, isn't that a great thing? And those of us who are exposed to this through our families get an avenue to have this experience with friends & colleagues. And any day, such "concerts" are better than ones which expose youngsters to drugs & alcohol.
Also, there have been plenty of "white guys" who do this, but the resonance felt by many to him is a result of his purity of devotion, his seva to Baba, the videos/satsangs/lectures he puts out which people relate to. It's a collective experience.. So to say that people are drawn to him because he's white is a shallow take. Because the actual experience is deep & multifaceted. It always is. Unless you have experienced something, you can't really have an opinion.
Anywayyy thanks Krishna Das ji, much love & pranaams to you & the team πŸ™β€οΈ by @anubha23

Ending the Oct 2025 Goa series with shots of the Vistadome coach (inner and outer POVsπŸ˜›) This was our first time travelling in the Vistadome coach (the one where the seats turn 360 degrees). This was in the Janshatabdi express, while returning. While I loved the experience, I must say that it's okay for a short journey of 4-5 hours. For something like 9 to 12 hours, this can get uncomfortable as you are seated the whole time. Recliner chairs can't replace proper sleeping berths! Loved the views outside though and chanced upon an extremely beautiful ancient looking temple (swipe to see) which someone later told me was the Mahalakshmi temple at Khedshi, Ratnagiri. Definitely on my bucket list! 🧑

In the previous post, I talked about what the Kaul Prasad is (please read if you haven't)..
Continued:
Just some clicks from around the temple:

1. One of the smaller temples in the premises, which has the Moortis of Mahakali, Chamundeshwari and Mahesh.

2. & 3. A Parijat tree at the side of the temple.

4. & 5. Shikhar of the temple. This is the new Shikhar and by fate, I was called for the Utsav of this Shikhar, as I happened to visit the temple randomly one afternoon during my friend's wedding in Goa. And this Shikhar Utsav was going on. I had no clue.. There was a Paalki that time too, and I was welcomed by it, as the Paalki was waiting right at the entrance when I reached. Very moving incident for me.

6. The moorti of Damodar (made of stone) which is inside the temple. This one is from the internet as we aren't allowed to click photos inside.

7. Random Paalki scene (more in previous posts)

8. Tried capturing the Shikhar & full moon in one frame.

9. & 10. Goan Patal Bhaaji & Pav, and some Kasaai (special type of milky beverage/Ukaala containing mostly cooling spices like coriander seeds). It has become our ritual to have this atleast once when at this temple. We have it at a small family-owned restaurant right outside the temple known as Anand Bhavan.

11-13. Temple exterior

14 & 15. Moon 😍

A few folks asked me what happened to the original temple of Damodar in Madgaon. At that site stands the Holy Spirit Church of Madgaon.
Damodar is like the gram-devta of Madgaon.. If you ever want to do a Damodar specific pilgrimage, these are the sites you must cover as per me (Locals, please feel free to add more sites):

1. Damodar Sal (Madgaon)
2. Damodar temple outside Municipal Market (Madgaon)
3. Damodar Temple @ Jambavali / Zambaulim
4. Damodar Temple @ Vasco (yet to visit this place)

Damodar is considered as both Shiva & Krishna by us. Though I feel he's more Shiva.. His vahan (vehicle) is a horse & there's a nandi inside the temple. There's an interesting article on this in the Times of India if you Google, titled as "Why Damodar is Lord Shiva only in Goa".

This ends the Kaul Prasad & Damodar series :) πŸ§‘πŸ™

.. Continued from previous post:
After visiting other deities (Betal, Mulveer etc.) in the temple premises & a parikrama of the main temple, the Paalki goes inside the temple and some assigned people who embody different deities (after doing over a month of sadhana / rituals) start offering the Kaul Prasad (which is a coconut), along with some vibhuti. These people are called Darshana Paatre (Paatre kinda translates to medium or vessel). The Kaul (coconut) is said to carry the deity's energy & has to be preserved at home in its whole form. After a year, when the new Kaul is taken from the temple & placed at home, the old Kaul can be opened and had as Prasad. It becomes dry. So we also add the sukha khobra (dry coconut) in some dishes. This little ritual ensures Damodar is always living with us, in our homes πŸ§‘πŸ™

There is just 1 Darshana Paatre per deity. As there are also other deities in the temple like Moolveer & Laxminarayan, sometimes there can be multiple paatres. Not all of them offer Kaul however. Some only offer prasad. I took prasad from one such paatre who was a Devi. I was called.
The Darshana Paatre also answer questions of devotees and often also attack evil spirits that take over weak individuals. It's like they are the deities themselves.

As our Kuldev is Damodar, we usually collect Kaul only from him. Though there's no such rule. Kaul Prasad can be availed by anyone who wants to have that deity at home. People who feel a connection to Damodar come from all over Goa, India and even abroad! Across religions.

The Kaul is very powerful. When the Moorti had to be shifted from Madgaon to Zambaulim during Portuguese rule, a ΰ€Άΰ₯ΰ€°ΰ₯€-ΰ€«ΰ€³ (coconut) was brought from Zambaulim to Madgaon in someone's house so that people could still worship Damodar.

In Vasco, to fight the plague, a ΰ€Άΰ₯ΰ€°ΰ₯€ ΰ€«ΰ€³ (coconut) was brought from here (Zambaulim) and kept in someone's house. And Vasco was free of the disease!! The people of Vasco celebrate this to this day. It is called the Vasco Saptah & starts a day after Nagpanchami (probably that was when the ΰ€Άΰ₯ΰ€°ΰ₯€-ΰ€«ΰ€³ was brought to fight the plague). There is a documentary of this on YouTube. which always gives me chills.
