The relentless online ridicule surrounding Seán McGirr’s time at McQueen exposes what happens when criticism stops being about the work and becomes a public appetite for watching someone fail.

Fashion loves a familiar story: a celebrated designer, a historic house, an archive reimagined @mrkimjones @kimjonesstudio is ready to write a different one.

After shaping menswear at Louis Vuitton and Dior, and directing womenswear and couture at Fendi, Jones is launching KIM JONES, his independent label, for Autumn/Winter 2027.

Designed in London, with production centred in Japan and leather goods made in Italy, the brand promises a versatile wardrobe that moves beyond traditional categories.

It marks a return to a name he first established in 2003—but this time, with decades of experience across luxury fashion behind it.

Jones has spent his career bringing tailoring, street culture, art and heritage into conversation. Now, he has the freedom to define that creative language on his own terms.

Swipe through eight key moments tracing Kim Jones’s journey across Louis Vuitton, Dior and Fendi

For @celine SS27, Michael Rider makes a convincing case. He takes the house’s familiar codes—razor-sharp tailoring, insouciant Parisian dressing, the perfect black dress—and refuses to treat them as sacred. Chinos narrow, trousers balloon, jackets sharpen the body; then colour, ornament and unexpected proportions interrupt the polish.

Rider understands something luxury fashion often forgets: a wardrobe becomes interesting when it reflects the person wearing it, not the designer’s need to make a statement. His Celine has room for discipline and eccentricity, for understatement and excess, without forcing them into a single idea of femininity.

This is not minimalism for minimalism’s sake, nor nostalgia dressed up as modernity. It is a wardrobe with a point of view—and enough freedom to let the wearer have one, too.

The revolution, if there is one, is making individuality look effortless.

Michele approaches a wardrobe as he might a library: full of stories yet to be discovered. Unexpected pairings, extravagant embellishments and flashes of colour turn dressing into an exercise in imagination, where the unfamiliar is often the most fascinating.

For @maisonvalentino Spring/Summer 2027, ruffles, feathers, sequins, unexpected pairings and unapologetic colour come together in a collection that refuses to be easily defined. There is a story behind the spectacle, a little mischief beneath the romance, and always something new to discover.

Michele is shaping Valentino on his own terms—not by making it quieter, but by giving its glamour a different kind of energy. Glamour is the common thread; imagination is what makes it his.

There is a certain confidence in clothes that know exactly when to reveal and when to conceal.

For @ferragamo's Spring/Summer 2027, Maximilian Davis looks to the 1940s and the work of photographer Lee Miller, reworking the era’s disciplined silhouettes through a distinctly modern lens. Precise tailoring, sculpted shoulders and double belts meet translucent rubber, fluid silk and dresses that seem to move like liquid.

What makes the collection compelling is its tension: utility against sensuality, structure against fluidity, restraint against provocation. Davis understands that strength in dressing need not come at the expense of seduction. Here, the woman sets the terms.

It is Ferragamo at its most assured—rooted in craftsmanship, yet unafraid to explore a more daring idea of femininity.

What if the most modern thing in fashion is simply giving women more ways to dress?

For Spring/Summer 2027, Sarah Burton continues to shape her Givenchy around movement, instinct and possibility. The collection moves between sharp tailoring, sculptural dresses, shirts, leather and unexpected proportions, but never feels like it is chasing a single idea of femininity.

What stayed with me was the sense of freedom. A sleeve shifts. A jacket twists. A silhouette changes its balance. Even the most familiar pieces feel slightly unsettled—in the best possible way.

Burton understands that clothes don't have to shout to have presence. Sometimes it is the cut, the movement, the way something sits on the body that makes you look twice.

And perhaps that is what makes this Givenchy feel so personal: it isn't telling you who to be. It is giving you room to become whoever you are.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Albert Kriemler turns to Austrian painter Martha Jungwirth, translating her instinctive language of colour and gesture into clothes.

The result is unmistakably @akris : precise, restrained and quietly intellectual—but charged with colour. Bruised purples meet unexpected pinks, reds, yellows and mint, while hand-applied ribbons mimic the movement of a brushstroke. Reversed jacquards leave frayed threads exposed, allowing the process of making them to become part of the design rather than something to conceal.

What makes the collaboration convincing is that Kriemler doesn't simply reproduce Jungwirth's paintings. He translates their energy. Her marks become embroidery, her unfinished edges become fabric details, and her instinctive approach to composition finds a new surface on the body.

There is also something refreshing about the collection's commitment to dressing rather than spectacle. Clean coats, trousers and suits provide the structure; colour and gesture provide the disruption.

Art translated into clothing, without losing the hand behind it.

For Spring/Summer 2027, @danielroseberry takes @schiaparelli in a more considered ready-to-wear direction with Going Clear. The collection retains the house’s surrealist codes and signature craftsmanship, while bringing wearability into focus. Sculptural details meet relaxed silhouettes, translating Schiaparelli’s distinctive design language for the modern wardrobe.

Swipe for highlights.

In a season obsessed with restraint,@ysl
makes a compelling case for excess. For SS27, @anthonyvaccarello puts gold, sensuality and old-school decadence firmly back in the spotlight.

Set beneath monumental chandeliers at the Trocadéro, with the Eiffel Tower rising in the background, the show channelled the grandeur of a bygone era. Gilded finishes, metallic safari jackets, sculpted tailoring, sheer lace and fluid silhouettes defined a collection in which black and gold became the ultimate expression of power and allure.

A diverse cast, including Anja Rubik, brought a striking presence to the runway, moving effortlessly between masculine structure and unapologetic femininity. Charlotte Gainsbourg’s live performance added an intimate, cinematic dimension to the spectacle, bringing an emotional counterpoint to its opulence.

A decade into his tenure at the house, Vaccarello continues to draw from the codes that have long defined Saint Laurent: audacity, sensuality and an instinct for dramatic elegance. Rather than pursuing reinvention for its own sake, he revisits this legacy through a contemporary lens, reaffirming the house’s distinctive visual identity.

At a time when minimalism often dominates the fashion conversation, SS27 celebrates the pleasure of dressing with intent, the confidence of a powerful silhouette and the enduring appeal of extravagance.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about fashion today is the freedom to exist between worlds. @matieresfecales @matieresfecalesparis SS27 collection blurs the boundaries of East and West, cool and uncool, tradition and rebellion, challenging the idea of identity as something singular or fixed.

Known for pushing the boundaries of conventional beauty, the Paris-based label uses fashion as a language of resistance, self-expression and reinvention. Its latest collection feels particularly attuned to the zeitgeist, capturing the social, cultural and political realities of our time.

Drawing on Steven Raj Bhaskaran’s Indian heritage and personal history, the collection brings together sari-inspired draping, traditional textiles, punk, religious iconography and radical couture. The Indian saris, with their fluid draping and rich textile traditions, evoke a sense of cultural memory, reimagined through an entirely contemporary lens. Here, heritage is not frozen in time; it is allowed to evolve, challenge and coexist with the unconventional.

There is something inherently political about this approach to dressing. The collection raises questions about representation, belonging and who gets to define what is fashionable. More than an aesthetic statement, it becomes an assertion of identity, history and selfhood.

Perhaps that is what makes the collection so resonant: the freedom to inhabit different worlds without having to choose between them. After all, the most compelling way to dress is not to fit into an aesthetic, but to wear every part of your story, unapologetically and on your own terms.

“Soirée de Lahore” (1955) is one of Christian Dior’s earliest couture interpretations of Indian textile artistry—a look that reflects a quiet yet intentional exchange between cultures at a time when such dialogues were rare within Parisian fashion.

Set against an off-white canvas, the piece is illuminated with intricate gold embroidery, where peacock motifs unfold with a sense of regal symbolism—an unmistakable nod to the opulence of Indian design. The craftsmanship recalls the depth and intricacy of zari and zardozi work, yet it is executed with the precision and discipline synonymous with the house of Dior.

The silhouette carries @dior signature structure, but it is softened by a singular drape inspired by the saree’s pallu—introducing fluidity, movement, and a subtle sense of intimacy to an otherwise architectural form.

What makes “Soirée de Lahore” remarkable is its restraint. It doesn’t overwhelm; it interprets. A piece where Indian craftsmanship is not replicated, but thoughtfully translated through the lens of Parisian couture—resulting in something that feels both globally aware and timelessly elegant.
