Honestly, I had booked this trip thinking we would spend most of our time on a beautiful island (yay) and do a little bit of whale watching. I thought we would see ONE, or max TWO sperm whales, if we were really lucky; but was fully prepared for a relaxing, uneventful week.

And then this happened?!?? Like WHAT EVEN 🫪

If the fish could give divers a few notes, they’d probably say: stop making diving harder than it needs to be.

Good diving isn’t about swimming harder. It’s about working with the water.

Fix your buoyancy: Be balanced, not a brick or a balloon.
Get your trim right: Stay horizontal and let the water do less of the work.
Check your gear: Tiny leaks can become big annoyances underwater.
Stay relaxed: Tension burns air. Slow breaths and calm movements go a long way.
Dive at your own pace: Rushing means more effort, more air and sometimes missing the best stuff.

Float better. Move less. Breathe. Enjoy.

SOME DIVES FEED YOUR SOUL.

My dive in Tampa, Florida was one of them.

It wasn’t just another dive site. It changed the way I see the ocean and the animals that call it home.

Sharks have a way of stripping away every story you’ve been told about fear. You stop seeing them as monsters and start seeing them for what they really are. Calm. Curious. Perfectly at home in a world we’ve barely begun to understand.

There are moments underwater that don’t just give you memories. They quietly change you. They remind you that the ocean isn’t something to conquer. It’s something to respect, protect, and keep coming back to.

Some dives feed your soul.
Some make you fall in love with the ocean all over again.

Every eye in this post evolved to survive.
How many can you identify?

We often think the ocean is full of beautiful colours, coral reefs, and large marine life. I see something else first. Eyes.

Every pair tells a story. A predator waiting patiently. A prey species staying one step ahead. A hunter that sees in the dark. A creature that has spent millions of years adapting to a world where every second matters.

The more time I spend underwater, the more I realise that no two eyes are the same. Each one is perfectly designed for the life it lives.

Slow down on your next dive. Look into their eyes. You might be surprised by how much they reveal.
