Lately, I have been distracted and worried about events repeating themselves. When something happens the second or third time around, the anxieties and fears from the past make their presence felt too. Leo!
The only thing you need to know about Leo is he will keep you busy. Constantly. He is always ready to play, always causing mischief, always affectionate. His other names: Tubby, KuttyLee, WiggleButt, and PuppyLahiri (because he liked to pretend to be a tough guy and he sometimes sang). I frequently called him a menace, but only with love. Other people don’t get to call him that! I loved watching his ears flap as he ran about. Yoko (whose other names include Babbu, Babbuloo, CoyoteKutty, Kulfi) was adopted after over seven months in foster care. He worked as a sled dog for the first eight years of his life. He brought me joy. My trials and adventures with him let me entertain the idea of forgiving myself (briefly). Yoko doesn’t like to be petted without consent, and he is addicted to his nightly dental chew. I don’t know if I will ever meet him again, but I hope the rest of his days are filled with walks, cuddles when he wants them, naps, and lots of love. by @anusrini20

Thank you for showing me around @besantmemorialanimaldispensary 🐾 I saw horses with tumours, a monkey with only one paw as a result of an electric shock, dogs with amputated limbs, cats, pigs, donkeys, bulls, goats that demanded scratches, abandoned pets, sick and injured animals of every kind. There is so much cruelty and neglect and indifference around us that it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed and distressed all the time. Our actions are in our control though, and I wish to always be kind and hopeful, even when it’s hard. taken in Besant Memorial Animal Dispensary by @anusrini20
