Surrender is not always about bowing down and giving away your power, it's the allowing of yourself, redeeming yourself from your place of limitation. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for this time spent in paradise. The love and warmth I’ve been showered with here have truly healed my soul. Despite our differences, opinions, and sometimes even our struggles to find the right words, the feeling of family is so strong. In the eyes of those who love beyond words, I find the courage to step out of my comfort zone. Cheers to Capela, to many more gatherings, and to the beauty of sharing meals together.

CAPELA RECIPES

Butter-Glazed Farm Vegetables with Apricots & Juniper
A seasonal farm-to-table recipe inspired by Alchi, Ladakh. Cooked at the open kitchen wood fire @alchikitchen

Ingredients
• Baby carrots
• Zucchini
• Fresh apricots (ripe & half-ripe)
• Sun-dried tomatoes
• 1 onion, cut into wedges
• 5 garlic cloves, chopped
• 2 tbsp butter
• Salt & freshly cracked black pepper
• 5–6 crushed juniper berries
• Spring onions

Method
Melt the butter and sauté the garlic until fragrant.

Add the whole carrots (slit slightly down the centre) with a pinch of salt. Cook slowly until tender and beautifully glazed.

Add the onions and cook until lightly caramelised. Stir in the apricots and let them soften.

Add the zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, crushed black pepper and juniper berries. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the zucchini is just tender. taken in Alchi's Kitchen by @anutaarayoga

Usually, it’s *learn one new thing a day*. Today, I don’t even know where to begin.

I learned why chefs are known for their tempers. I learned that a kitchen doesn’t truly work until there’s complete trust between the people in it.

Yesterday was my first time standing in a professional restaurant kitchen, and I’m so grateful to @alchikitchen and @nilzzawangmo for this collaboration. A heartfelt thank you to every incredible woman in the Alchi kitchen for welcoming me so generously.

Cooking with the Himalayas stretched out beyond the windows... I think it’ll be hard for any kitchen to ever match that view.

One of the most unforgettable moments was being called to a guest’s table, only to hear how much they loved the food. That feeling is difficult to describe.

My biggest joy, though, was seeing Ladakhi flavours meet some of my favourite coastal dishes. Mutton Ishtu with flat noodles and Khambir, and Chicken Cafreal paired with Yarkhandi Pulao—it felt like two beautiful culinary worlds finding common ground.

I’m deeply grateful I got to be part of this experience.

And I couldn’t have done it without the love and support of @oh_you.himalayas . 📸 Thank you. by @anutaarayoga

Capela – The Travelling Pot

We packed our bags with a little bit of the coast and headed to Alchi.
After spending a few beautiful days here, sharing stories, recipes and many cups of tea, we’re bringing together a special lunch where the flavours of the coast meet the mountains.
I’m honoured to be cooking alongside Chef Nilza and the incredible all-women team at @alchikitchen, who continue to preserve the rich food traditions of Ladakh with so much love.
Alchi feels like the end of the world... in the most beautiful way. A quiet little village nestled among ancient mountains, where the Indus River can be heard in the stillness of the night. Every view here makes you instinctively reach for your phone—not to post a picture, but to call someone you love and simply say, “I wish you were here.”
I’m taking home much more than recipes.

I’m not someone who thinks things through all the way. But every now and then, I step back and reflect—on the stupidity, or perhaps the courage, it takes to do the things I’ve done, or am doing.

Maybe there’s a more sensible way to live. But I don’t want that if it means missing the highs and lows that come with choosing my own path. At its heart, perhaps it’s about having a little control—or at least the illusion of it. Simply knowing that it was my choice.

And yet, if I’m honest, some of the most extraordinary things in my life happened when it wasn’t my choice at all.

That’s where I find myself right now.

For the longest time, it felt like a nightmare unfolding. But slowly, almost quietly, I’m beginning to realize that perhaps it was a dream taking shape all along. by @anutaarayoga

Beloved Womb Warriors,

Tonight, we gather beneath the light of the Full Moon.

This moon arrives as we move into the quieter half of the year—a sacred turning where the energy begins its inward descent. Nature no longer asks us to bloom endlessly. Instead, she invites us to soften, to listen, and to remember.

If you find yourself withdrawing from noise...
Honor it.

If conversations feel exhausting...
Choose silence without apology.

If your soul longs for solitude...
Receive it as medicine.

The coming months belong to the mystery of the Divine Feminine.

She is not hurried.
She is not seeking.
She does not chase.

She waits.
She listens.
She receives.

There is a quiet power in becoming the vessel rather than the voice.

This Full Moon, resist the urge to rush into action or seek answers outside yourself. Sit beside the well that lives within your own being. Allow your emotions to rise without fixing them. Allow your desires to reveal themselves without acting on them.

Witness your longing.
Witness your passion.
Witness your sensuality.

Not to suppress them—but to know them.

When desire is held with awareness, it transforms into wisdom.
When silence is welcomed, intuition begins to speak.

Light a candle.
Adorn yourself as an offering to the Divine Mother.
Wear your bindi. Line your eyes with kohl. Wrap yourself in beauty—not for the world to admire, but as a sacred remembrance of who you are.

Sit beneath the moon if you can.
Offer gratitude.
Receive her light.
And remember...

The feminine does not need to become.
She simply remembers.

May this moon illuminate the places within you that are ready to be received with love.

With all my heart,

I don’t want to change… but then, haven’t you changed already?

From one day to the next, nothing in your body is the same. Your skin, your hair—they have grown or aged a day. Change is life… a moment here and then gone, too far away.

Some wise saying I once heard: “You don’t step into the same river twice.”

I look forward to each day with curiosity, and sure enough, it brings unexpected moments—an act of kindness, or some nasty glare from your neighbour; a story told by your vegetable guy; an extra rose from my florist just because she felt like it.

Some friendships become sacred, and others just blur away. One moment, feeling the loss, and then the next, another shows up to cheer you up.

Life should be held lightly and touched with awe. Loosen the grip and see how beautiful change can be, how beautiful life already is. taken in Goa, India by @anutaarayoga

In the phase of menopause and perimenopause, most women have moved away or broken away from the men who became the fathers of their children. Not a pity party, though it may sound like it… but just introspection. In my 20s, I pushed past period cramps and worked — both at home and at whatever work looked like then. I bore my children and carried the load of family, work, and cramps. Not quiet times. Single motherhood today is looked at with compassion and kindness, whereas I was ostracized, talked down to, thought of as a communicable disease.
I did not pause for the cramps or the humans who were cramping me.
In my 30s, I was unstoppable. For anything that breaks you, you choose to go after. The cramps didn’t cramp that bad, and people were unable to cramp me. PMS gave me the least clarity, but post that… it was almost clairvoyance.
My 40s brought back memories of teenage cramps, sore tits, and insane horniness. Perimenopause has a type. And it’s always the wrong type.
Years of ignoring your sacred time and being told this is common and everyone works through it made us ignore what was sacred. This chum that shows up month on month is not punishment. It is a portal inward. A time to reboot, dive deep into yourself, soften, and become graceful.
Now in my 50s, with the chum visiting far less and the cramping unlike before, the woman who finally listened to her inner guidance has become diligent. Pause means pause.
The good thing is that I am not with someone who knew me in my 20s or 30s. He who is with me now could be told, taught, and could learn trust and safety with me.
I may have enjoyed being called superwoman, supermom, and super bitch, but those were fleeting. Now I am just super soft.
Funny how when I was starving for affection and touch and still carried on, I was “superwoman.” Today, I ask and receive exactly what I want — and I have never felt more powerful than now, when I am this soft.
I wish I knew this earlier, so I could have been there for my mom, and gentler with my daughter.
Please don’t miss the chance to care for the women in your life. Beginning or ending. Teach the men around you. Teach your boys. taken in Goa, India by @anutaarayoga

Forever grateful. Life may not be a bed of roses… actually, may not even be a bed at all. Certainly not for me. It’s continuous movement in directions with a very limited-edition map. And for this, I am grateful.

At 50, I feel like a baby in life — with so much unlearning and an open, curious mind. The mind seems to have a mind of its own (in a good way). The heart isn’t hearting the way it used to.

If it’s not a good road, I take a diversion. I like this me — softer, more considerate… and still a little cut throat @oh_you.himalayas thank you for walking with me on this crazy road.
