Thank you for posting this Vinyl Collection! As an avid record collector, it’s always fun to share with other fellow collectors what you have and see what others have as well. If I add my collection with my hubby’s, we have over 1500 records, but mine alone is just over 600. I have one whole cabinet that is just @depechemode. After counting my collection, @duranduran is a close second, but it even surprised me that the third highest in my collection was @officialinxs! 🎵🎶🎵

Anyone else collect vinyl? If so, how much is in your collection?

Hello! I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted…lots of life things happening, but I wanted to jump back in and catch up with concerts, travel and events I’ve attended! @scottsdalefashionweek is this week, and Susan invited me as her plus one to Influencer Night last Thursday. They had good snacks and sips, and I got to put together another beautiful bouquet from @azflowermarket! We also hung out with @foodjunkieaz for a bit!

We all needed someone like Dolly Parton in this world, and I’m so happy I got to live a lifetime with her in it. I didn’t even realise I had a collection until I looked around my house!

I actually grew up listening to country, and have seen a few country artists with my parents, but never had the honor of seeing Dolly. I even floated the idea of a girls trip to Dollywood at some point, hoping we could possibly catch Dolly in person. I still want to make that trip!

Watching tributes to Dolly brings tears to my eyes, not only because of her immense talent, but her kindness, philanthropy and toughness. She was fierce but tender, she sparkled and shined, but was savvy and smart. And as high as the heels and hair was, her legacy of authenticity and understanding of herself and others was even more grand. Rest in glory, Dolly…🕊️💖

Last Thursday, my husband and I had the lovely opportunity to attend the preview night at the second location of Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila in Chandler! 🌮🥃🌵

After the success of their award winning Scottsdale location, the Chandler location officially opened on August 5th. Cien Agaves is locally owned and operated and they serve scratch-made Mexican cuisine like the amazing tacos and ceviche we had! Along with dinner, I got to try one of their fantastic selection of hand crafted margaritas and a decadent dessert! 🍹🍽️🏜️

Although everything for our dinner was delicious, one of our standout favorites was the chevice, which had plenty of shrimp and reminded me of the ceviche my dad used to make! Of the tacos (we tried 6 different ones), my hubby loved the Carne Asada Taco, and I will most definitely return again for the Sea Bass Taco and the Quesabirria Taco because the consommé was outstanding! 🌮💚🌮

We closed the night with the Churro Sundae and a Mango Tango frozen margarita, both so satisfying! Before we left, I got the chance to sample the Tequila Reposado by @mijentatequila, which was so smooth! Mijenta Tequila is a B Corp certified tequila from Jalisco, award winning and female owned! 🍹🥭🍹

Before we left, I had to make sure I captured a picture of the vibrant, colorful and beautiful mural by artistelmoises! He mentioned on his Instagram page that the owners wanted to capture the Jalisco landmark where agave is grown, and he did an amazing job! 🎨🖌️🎨

We promised our son we would be back, because he loved the Carnitas Tacos we brought home for him. Cien Agaves is a must try for lunch and dinner! Thank you @adlerpublicrelations and @cienagaves for having us, cheers! 🏜️❤️🌵

On Tuesday night, I finally got to see the movie “Nimrods”, the Green Day comedy which is the finished product of the movie I was an extra in last year with my friends! 🎬🎞️🎥

I went to the early showing with the intro by Green Day, and the bonus footage at the end. The bonus footage was the mini concert set we got between actual takes that appeared in the movie. I didn’t mention it in my original post last year, but those songs were:

“Revolution Radio”
“One Eyed Bastard”
“2000 Light Years Away”
“Going to Pasalcqua”

I thought it was such a fun and funny movie, especially all of the Green Day Easter Eggs sprinkled throughout. There are obvious ones (the mud fight), but one I picked up on the is the company name of cab owned by Tommy’s older brother (“Castaway”, a song on the “Warning” album). Some of the story gaps I was wondering about were filled in, especially how the Analog Dogs came to think they were opening for Green Day! 🎤🎸🥁

To celebrate the movie officially coming out tomorrow, this is a reel of pictures and video from last year at the Hollywood Palladium, pictures my husband took at SDCC last month when he got ice cream from the Mister Freezie truck, and shots of me at the Harkins movie theater, where I saw the movie in IMAX! If you love Green Day, go see “Nimrods”! 🍿🎞️🎶

I went to the last day of Ohana Festival last year with my friend Glenda to see Green Day, who were playing later that night. As we were walking in, we saw Eddie Vedder was onstage with a gentleman I didn’t recognize. I heard the song they were singing, and wondered why I knew the words. I then realized I knew it from when Ashley Park and Kevin Dias sang it on “Emily in Paris”.

The song was “Falling Slowly” and I started recording at that moment because I love that song. I then spent a little bit of time before the next band came on to research the song and saw that the person onstage with Eddie Vedder was Glen Hansard, who I then found out not only co-authored the song, but won an Oscar for it!

I’m so sad to hear about his passing, and I feel lucky to have you experienced this duet live. I kept meaning to watch “Once” after that day. I finally did last night, and it was quite bittersweet because it’s such a lovely film. Rest easy, Glen. 🕊️🎶🕊️

This past weekend, my sister and brother-in-law came to visit for her first out of state concert: @straycatsmusic at @thecelebrityphx! AND, I finally got to experience the rotating stage! 🎤🎸🥁

I honestly don’t remember exactly when I started listening to the Stray Cats, but I would assume it was around 1983. In researching their history, I didn’t know that “Build For Speed” from 1982 was actually a compilation of UK releases before the release 1983 of “Rant ‘N Rave with The Stray Cats”! 🎶🐈‍⬛🎵

My sister and I have seen Brian Setzer play Stray Cats songs live with his orchestra, but we have never seen the Stray Cats in their original line up together. The show we planned to see last November was cancelled because Brian Setzer was battling a serious illness. They vowed to reschedule once he recovered, which was the show last Saturday night! 🎵🎫🎶

The nostalgia we felt was palpable, especially since so many people were dressed in rockabilly style! Pete Bernhard from Devil Makes Three opened, before the main act: Lee Rocker (stand-up bass), Slim Jim Phantom (drums), and Brian Setzer (guitar and lead vocals) AKA The Stray Cats! 😸🐈😼

It was a simple stage set up, just a few trash cans, amps, speakers, mics and their instruments. To say this show was AMAZING is an understatement! Along side radio hits like “Stray Cat Strut”, and “Rock This Town”, they played “Runaway Boys”, “Rumble in Brighton”, “Built For Speed” and “Fishnet Stockings”. I had an emotional reaction to my personal favorite, “I Won’t Stand In Your Way”, sitting down breathless at the end because I’ve waited so long to hear it live! 🥁🎸🎤

Hello y’all! Deon and I had a little anniversary get away to New Orleans this past weekend, and here are some preview snaps from our trip! We went to Bourbon Street, ate delicious iconic Louisiana delights like gator and catfish Po’boy sandwiches, gumbo, jambalaya & beignets, ending with an absolutely delicious dinner at Peche (thank you to @pcarh13 for the recommendation)! PLUS, we even squeezed in a pop culture/comic convention! For sure I’ll have more pictures to share later, and happy anniversary to my loving hubby! ⚜️🎭⚜️

Do you recognise this fountain? This is a throwback to when we ran around Chicago and visited a handful of iconic places, including the Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain in Chicago’s Grant Park! If you recognise it, it’s because it is featured in the title sequence of “Married…with Children”! ⛲️⛲️⛲️

We also got some amazing fresh fruit smoothies at The Fountain Cafe before heading to the beautiful North Rose Garden. I got the “Tropic Like It’s Hot” and it was DELICIOUS! More Chicago pictures to come, have a wonderful 4th of July! 🌹💐🥀

Be warned: I’m gonna be posting a lot about Chicago, so buckle up! As I prep more posts, here’s one I’m posting in honor of “101”. Those unfamiliar with this day, it was when Depeche Mode played their 101st concert that culminated at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena for their “Music for the Masses” tour back in 1988! A concert I should have gone to, but didn’t…and that’s a whole other thing that I can’t get into right now…🖤🎵🖤

The reason for this particular picture is because the cover of “Route 66” was a B-side to “Behind the Wheel” from the “Music for the Masses” album! The song was originally made famous by the Nat King Cole Trio, but composed by American songwriter Bobby Troup, inspired by his cross-country trek on the famous highway in 1946. 🎶🎵🎶

But I had no idea that Chicago was the official starting point of Route 66, since it was commissioned back in 1926! It starts on Jackson Boulevard and Michigan Avenue, which is a central location to the city’s road network. Route 66 is also known as the “Mother Road”, stretching from Chicago to Los Angeles! 🛣️🚦🛞
