It’s tempting to jump straight into “getting your abs back.”Instead, I spent my first months postpartum strengthening my pelvic floor and reconnecting with my deep core. That work isn’t always exciting, but it’s what made everything that came after possible. These are some of my favorite exercises now that my body is ready for a greater challenge.More postpartum-friendly workouts are on YouTube.❤️ by @anyashogren

5 habits that changed my postpartum body 🤍 1. Rebuilding my core before trying to train itInstead of jumping into crunches or HIIT, I spent the first few months focusing on breathwork, deep core activation, and reconnecting with my pelvic floor. Even just 10 minutes a day made a huge difference, and when I eventually added workouts back in, everything felt stronger and more supported. 2. Prioritizing bodyworkBreastfeeding, carrying a growing baby, and spending hours on the floor playing with him left my neck and back constantly tight. Getting regular massages and doing mobility work at home has helped so much with the aches and made me feel more like myself again. 3. Dry brushing + moisturizing consistentlyNot because I think it’s magic, but because it’s become a small ritual that helps me slow down and take care of myself. I dry brush before showering and use the Hanni Splash Salve afterward, and my skin has never felt softer. 4. Making good food easily available at homePostpartum life is unpredictable. Some days I realize at 2 p.m. that I haven’t eaten lunch. Keeping things like pre-washed salad kits, berries, Greek yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, protein bars, and leftovers I actually enjoy makes it so much easier to nourish myself without having to think too hard. 5. Mixing yoga and Pilates with a little bit of weightsI didn’t rush back into intense workouts. Most weeks looked like a few Pilates classes, yoga at home, daily walks with the stroller, and short strength sessions with rather light dumbbells. Focusing on consistency instead of doing everything at once has given me better results—and I actually enjoy it. by @anyashogren

What if some of the things you’ve believed about yourself for years… just aren’t true? What if you don’t need more discipline? What if you’re just trying to function in an environment your nervous system was never designed for 🤍 by @anyashogren

The older I get, the more I realize that feeling calm has very little to do with having less on your plate. It’s about having better boundaries, better systems, and better habits. Here are the ones that have changed my life the most.1. Keeping my phone away while I eat.2. Drinking a full glass of water before my morning coffee.3. Saying, “I’ll let you know,” instead of saying yes immediately.4. Doing anything that takes less than two minutes right away.5. Stopping the belief that I have to do everything myself. If I can pay for help, I do.6. Writing everything down instead of trying to remember it.7. Deciding tomorrow’s top three priorities before bed.8. Taking five minutes of sunlight before opening my phone.9. Going outside, even if it’s only for 15 minutes.10. Remembering that everyone sees life through their own experiences.11. Assuming the best before assuming the worst.12. Not opening messages until I actually have time to reply.13. Buying myself flowers or doing something beautiful just because.14. Protecting the hour before bed—no phone, just a book, magnesium, and winding down.15. Celebrating progress instead of waiting for perfection.16. Asking, “Will this matter in a year?” before giving it my energy.17. Choosing peace over proving a point.18. Letting people misunderstand me instead of over-explaining myself.19. Keeping some goals private until they’re already happening.20. Ending every day by thinking of one thing I did well.Which one are you stealing? 🤍 by @anyashogren

Open ↓Has becoming a mom been the biggest roller coaster of my life? Absolutely. But these are the habits that help me feel like me again.1. I don’t accept that motherhood has to mean being exhausted.→ Sleep is my number one priority. We did sleep training, and if we have a rough night, I’ll take a nap during the day whenever I can. Being well-rested helps me show up as a better mom, partner, and person.2. I move my body every single day—even if it’s just 15–20 minutes.→ Some days it’s a full Pilates workout. Some days it’s stretching on the mat. I stopped thinking about movement as a way to burn calories and started seeing it as something that helps me feel stronger, calmer, and more like myself.3. I start my morning with warm lemon water and Celtic salt.→ It’s one of my favorite rituals. It helps me hydrate first thing in the morning and gives me a quiet moment before the day begins.4. I protect my nervous system with small daily rituals.→ Magnesium before bed. Five minutes on my acupressure mat. Legs up the wall every night (or whenever I have a minute). A cup of chamomile tea. Tiny habits that make a huge difference.5. I make time for little moments of self-care.→ Dry brushing, gua sha from the fridge, a long bath with Epsom salts, or simply moisturizing my skin after a shower. Taking care of my body became an act of gratitude instead of something I rushed through.None of these are complicated. They’re just small things I choose consistently. And they’ve helped me feel healthier, calmer, and more like myself.✨ What’s one non-negotiable that helps you feel like you? by @anyashogren

In my early 20s, I thought being healthy meant working out more. Now I know it’s the habits you repeat every day that make the biggest difference.None of these are extreme. They’re simply the routines that have helped me feel stronger, calmer, healthier, and more at home in my body. The habits I wish I started in my early 20s:1️⃣ Protecting my sleep — magnesium glycinate, no phone for the last hour before bed, an eye mask, and earplugs. Better sleep changed everything.2️⃣ Drinking water before coffee — it became one of the easiest ways to feel more energized throughout the day.3️⃣ Prioritizing recovery — long baths, stretching, slowing down, and allowing my body to recover instead of always pushing harder.4️⃣ Taking care of my hair every day — braiding it before bed, sleeping on a silk pillowcase, and treating hair care as a daily habit instead of an occasional one. My breakage improved so much.5️⃣ Moving every day — even if it’s only 15 minutes on my mat. Consistency always beats intensity.6️⃣ Pilates with weights — building strength while improving posture, balance, and muscle definition.7️⃣ Getting outside — even a short walk and a few minutes of fresh air completely shifts my mood.8️⃣ Eating enough protein — one of the biggest upgrades I’ve made for my energy, recovery, and overall health.9️⃣ Booking regular massages — taking care of my body before it starts asking for help.🔟 Reading before bed instead of scrolling — my mind feels calmer and I fall asleep so much faster.1️⃣1️⃣ Journaling whenever life feels noisy — putting my thoughts on paper always creates clarity.1️⃣2️⃣ Choosing consistency over perfection — the healthiest version of me wasn’t built in one perfect week. It came from repeating simple habits over and over again. If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this:You don’t need a complete life reset. You just need a few habits worth repeating. 🤍 by @anyashogren
