Welcome back to Teaching Toddlers Through PlayToday is all about Comparing Sizes using magnetic tiles (or any building block/tool)! The concept is simple but we aren’t doing it purposefully enough.When you are building with your child: we can add 2 intentional changes to increase learning in a meaningful way.1. Vocabulary exposure2. ModelingUsing vocabulary like: Bigger, taller, shorter, smaller, longer, wider, etc. provides authentic real-world exposure in such a simple wayBut you also need to model it. And it’s simpler than it sounds.Instead of “wow your building is so tall” you say —> “your building is taller than mine!” And point out the heights. 📍Davis Farmland in Sterling, MAThis is a place I grew up coming to for fields trips & couldn’t wait to bring my son.Thanks to their teacher appreciation event yesterday was the day for us. We played for HOURS.🐮🐷🐴🐐There are MANY more animals than shown in the video because my son had SO much fun with all the play structures the animals weren’t his biggest focus. 💦 the splash pad 100% stole the show. I absolutely recommend planning your trip around a day when the splash pad is open & the weather is hot!The whole park was clean, family friendly and spread out enough that despite being very busy everyone could play safely.We will absolutely be returning. ⚾️📍Polar Park — Worcester, MAWe had the best night as watching the Woo Sox with all the cousins!Every part of Polar Park is family friendly from the berm seating to the playground.Easily one of the more affordable family outings & fun for everyone.🧨 plus, after every Friday night game they do fireworks! Honestly some of the best fireworks I’ve seen in a very long time!! Ticks are tiny, but they can carry big risks. 🕷️ After outdoor play, hikes, or even a day in the yard, take a few minutes to check your kids — especially behind AND IN ears, in hair, around the neck, under arms, belly button, waistline, and behind knees. 🧢🌿Talking to our pediatrician they said the most important thing is tick removal before 36 hours!!!A quick tick check can make a big difference. The Purple Couch Bookshop in North Andover is a must stop.Not only do they have a huge selection of some of the best books, it’s meant for you to come and stay.They have a large collection of things like stationary, bookmarks and even games.
