When you don’t regret a quarter of a roll of film being sacrificed to the gods. This was the day the residents came to play in the south sound. We’d seen them at the pier closer than we ever had- and so playful! Next at narrows bridge, and then again here from Point Defiance. We waited and waited for them to round the corner & come into view behind all the trees and bushes blocking our vantage point. We heard their blows first, the most magical sound…..and then sun dancing on their shimmering fins & there they were.
