For this weeks #whyaoiiwednesday we have a big/little duo, Maddie and Mya 💌

Maddie
“Mya and I met for a brief summer 8 years ago and by a stroke of luck we both ended up at the U. Our paths were meant to cross again as now she is my little and best friend all in one. I am so grateful we were able to reconnect through aoii and make our aoii experience that much better together. She truly is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and lights up every room she walks in to. There is no one I’d rather cry to, laugh with, and everything in between. Being her big has been one of the highlights of my time in aoii and my college experience. It has been so rewarding watching her come into the person she is now and just see her thrive. I also have loved nothing more than watching her become a big and become a guide and support system to her littles. I am so proud and in awe of her. Can’t wait to make more memories together in aoii and in life. To many more amazing and silly side quests, I love you munckin🥹“

“I met Maddie eight years ago, but we really reconnected through my time in aoii. Having Maddie guide me through these past years has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Maddie always finds a way to make me smile and remind me of my worth. Maddie is one of those friends who always goes the extra mile to see her friends happy. I’ve been so lucky to have found someone as caring as Maddie. Having her as my big is much more than a title; she truly is like an older sister to me. Maddie’s hard work and ambition are something I truly am proud to watch. I cannot wait to see you continue to keep reaching your goals and more. #meetexecmonday with our VP of Operations, Alexis 🌹

“Hi, I’m Alexis Kim! I’ve had so much fun serving as the Vice President of Operations and can’t wait for this upcoming year! Aoii has bought so many amazing people into my life and has given me so many memories I will cherish forever. What brings me back day after day is the community aoii fosters - from sharing silly stories to helping each other with school, aoii is somewhere that I can return to at any time. Being able to give back to this chapter by serving on the exec board has been such a great experience. I love working to make our chapter the best and alongside such a great, ambitious team. Looking forward to the fall and can’t wait to see you all!”

Maija’s letter 🌹
“Ella girl!!!!! I can’t even begin to describe how much you mean to me. One of the greatest things college and aoii has given me is your friendship. You have an innate ability to make everyone around you feel so comfortable and loved, you are such a light. You always challenge me to grow and become the best version of myself, which is one of the most important things to me in a friendship. I’m so grateful for all of our laughs (seriously you make me laugh like no other), our whine sessions after a hard day, hallway chats, every trip we’ve gotten to go on together, and of course the Culver’s runs! I love you Ella!!! Can’t imagine this life without you!!!!💕💕”

For this week’s #whyaoiiwednesday we have a big/little duo, Ava and Sydney 💌

Ava C🌹

“Dearest chick,
When someone says go to your happy place I’m immediately transported to your room in the house post Monday night meeting giggling and debriefing our weekends. Making sure not to leave out a single detail as we devour seconds of Jaclyn’s desserts. Your genuine love and excitement for the people you care about is palpable and I feel beyond lucky to be a recipient. Absolutely zero surprise that the girl I started sobbing with at pref would be one of my best friends and a little lady I feel weirdly maternal towards. Our friendship kept me coming back to aoii time and time again whether dresses as Gru or dolled up for formals, I think we’d be big little in every life. Counting down the days till we can have our Monday night debriefs again, love you chicken.”

“Ava has truly changed me for the better. I can’t imagine college without having met her. If I could describe her in one word, I would choose the word light because she lights up every room she walks in and is an incredible light in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. I could write a book about Ava Crawford- she is the most compassionate, inclusive, and loyal individual I have ever met! When I found out she was my big, I literally screamed because there is no one at school that I look up to more than Ava.
