Tip 1: Using thicker lines = more social media friendly
- now i know that there are so many successful artists on socmed that use thin lines, and thats absolutely okay! However, thick lines tend to look clearer and easier to be seen from afar, like from a small square in an explore feed page filled with a bunch of other art. Hence more people tend to click on them since it looks clearer.

Tip 2: Less is More
- overloading your artwork with a bunch of effects/stickers (ie glitter/sparkles/hearts/stickers etc) will easily crowd and overpower your artwork if it isnt done strategically. Now , in some styles the overcrowding works well (glitchcore/ decora art) but other than that, sticking to just a few effects is optimal.

Tip 3: The Silhouette is SO SO important
- To avoid your character design/artwork looking like a blob, the silhouette has to be distinct enough. If you are drawing characters with a very plain silhouette (ie has long hair that covers the silhouette pf the clothes, making it js look like a big rectangle) u shd add in hair strands, or top accessories like bows to break that boring silhouette.

Tip 4: Your Lineart style shd match your colouring style
- Okay, Im not saying that u cant fuse artstyles (like a watercolour rendering with thick cartoon lineart) It can look amazing if executed well. However, if you are still a beginner artist , its much easier to make it look good when its in the same style. I personally have done this before, and It just made my art look disconnected (?) like if I just coloured someones lineart from pinterest 😭

Thats all for now! Again, remember that these are just my personal tips from my experiences, you can do whatever you want in your art as long as it makes you happy. art has no rules 🤍 (except AI fuck AI)
